WSET II; 10/23/2010-10/24/2010 (Portland, ME) : Medium-plus garnet (ruby) color. Pronounced-minus nose of red fruit, sour cherry, cedar, herb. Medium body, tongue-scraping, grippy tannin, and high acid. Earth, herbs, cedar, and eucalyptus on the palate. Very good (-).

Aroma of cloves and leather. Gentle cherry and leather flavors with good acid. Medium dusky cherry finish. Classically styled chianti at a great price, which means it's worth seeking out. I doubt this will be getting any better, and it may even be starting to fade, but it's drinking well right now.

Had this with carbonara. Bright fruit, lots of acidity all well integrated. Got better over the course of the meal. Nice chianti for the price.

Nose is rarer closed. Astringent at first, with some fruit on the back end. Not great

Aromas of red cherries, pepper spice and earth. Good amount of fruit on the palate with herb & pepper spice finish. Well balanced acidity & tannins.

Smoky black cherry nose and decent fruit; round palate of cherry, plumbs, tar, bit of pepper aromas with a hint of rosemary. Medium-bodied, medium fine tannins and a fruity finish.
