A pale lemon straw. Rather slight on the nose, at least initially, but notably toasty and buttery. There's a touch of lemon and of cordite too. Very attractive palate: poised fruit with a nice rich depth. Notable concentration and intensity. Good balance. Just a little uninspiring overall.

Very pale. Rather toasty aroma, but also a sweet lime and mineral core. Musky and rather green, but not bad. Light, clean taste with lemon, green apple, and a touch of beeswax. All very proper, but it doesn't bowl me over. Reduced to clear but still pricey! (Though maybe not by the standards of grand cru chablis), I picked a bottle from the shadier rear of the shelf. Perhaps I lack the experience to fully appreciate this - drinks nicely …
