Last bottle. Still in fine shape w dense fruit.

Corked. Drats

PNP. Cork perfect. Color dark Crimson. Nose spicy cherry tobacco w minty alcohols tones. Swishing shows a mouthful of structure mostly oaky tannin. Sipping allows the fruit density to show more, but there are grippy tannins under there that dominate the finish. Really a lot bigger and heavier than I was anticipating and still pretty primary.

Passed thru vinturi. Nose mostly dark flowers and some dust and tar. On palate there is medium weight fruit, soft tannins and some stem-skin tannin on finish. Hasn't evolved much since last tasting. Will wait 6-12 mos.

Excellent value with fruity and good texture.

also getting a dusty more brambly character along with chocolate and very ripe fruit. i am going to drink a few and hold some for awhile to see how this evolves over a few years.can't wait to try their barolos.

tasted this one on second night open and showed more chocolate prune aromas on nose.

color dark ruby. nose very complex with dark plum fruit, tar, licorice, and hints of chocolate. there is some significant ripeness to the fruit and good weight on the palate. tannins moderate, but these are on the softer side making the balance about right. finish is medium with faintest hint of stem at the very end. i don't usually age $13 wines, but i think that this has a very long life ahead of it. great buy!

Very rich with juicy black fruits, a flavor that makes me think of molasses (a touch sweet) on wet leather, subtle wet earth and medium tannins. Overall a nice entry level Dolcetto- not overly interesting but a good wine. foodandwineblog.com
