Opened at dinner with a 1 hour decant before consuming - this came across as rather closed and never got going. You can feel the quality and elegance waiting to show itself, but this needs more time or a lot more air. This was a very different experience vs my last bottle 3-4 years ago. Is this going through a closed phase?

Pure California cabernet with decent amount of tannins to still continue to mature for years to come.

Dusty earth, graphite, cassis, blackberry. Distinctly California cab, but more delicate and feminine than most. 12+ hour decant and tannins still not fully integrated, so has the structure to go for a long while. Finish is complex and lingering.

This is delicious. Still young, but very drinkable. The rounded tannins peek in and out. Bordeaux in style with a California twist. Strawberry, mint, forest floor, touch of oak. My gosh, this is delicious. Keep this one in the cellar a bit longer. Drink 2026 to 2035. Outstanding.

Really great wine. I'm bummed that I drank through my last bottle. As many reviewers mentioned, it's in a perfect drinking window. This is what great CA cab is all about. Mint, cigar box, candied cranberry, and graphite. Tannins are perfectly integrated and virtually non-existent. drink now through 2030.

Drank from a magnum, slow-oxed over 2 days. Acid and tannins weave a beautiful structure that captures the rich fruit concentration, the powerful acidity. A touch of oak to rounds out the mouthfeel. Gentle floral scents blow around the room as you swirl this, keeping the mind relaxed. There's plenty of stars in this orchestra that could shine on their own, but Cathy's skill as a conductor has allowed them to shine as a group. I love Cathy's style where …

Normally the single vineyard/reserve Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is a step up in richness/extraction from the basic Cabernet. In this case the Kronos is a big step up in refinement, and that's from one of the most refined "basic" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons. There's a subtle fruit sweetness that pegs it as a Napa Cab, but the mid-palate and finish are about layers of complexity, woven together like a needlepoint on fine silk. The bumps of the stitches are the tannins, …

Very interesting wine. Very complex on the nose, black fruit, Cassis, some floral notes. All structure on the palate, big, lots of acid and tannin. Medium-long finish.

Tasted at a trade tasting in NYC. Small taste. Good acidity with some pretty obvious grippy tannin. Ripe black fruited but restrained and not over-ripe. Sleek on the finish with some charcoal and graphite. Long but in need of some serious aging.

Splendide !

New Year's (Chicago, IL) : Served double blind. Clearly of a new-world persuasion, but done in the way wine ought to be done. The fruit is generous and ripe, and certainly speaks true to Napa (which is what I guessed), and the pyrazines make this an easy cabernet (blend) guess. On the reveal, this is exactly as I would have guessed; the weaker vintage gives this a lift and lightness that make it actually quite pleasant to drink. In fact, …

There was a green note on the nose and palate that burned off after an hour in a decanter. Then a beautiful nose of blue fruits and violets. Very smooth and fresh on the palate with a lean bent for a Napa Cab but true to the vintage. Great flavors of cassis, dark berries and minerals with hints of green stalk and eucalyptus. Finishes very fresh and juicy with superb complexity in the form of great mineral crunch and a …

Surprisingly uninspiring Cab for its reputation and price point. Opened magnum two hours and then decanted for another hour. Muted nose, no body or mouthfeel, almost "thin". Very pleasant but no "wow" factor or memorable complexity. Short finish. A nice wine but not worth the money spent.

I was disappointed in the body of the wine. I was expecting a Krono‘s to have deeper richer flavor.

It didn’t have the deep body I was expecting from a Kronos. I was a little disappointed.

Decanted 2hrs. Dark purple. Beautiful nose of cool dark fruit and coffee grounds. Fabulous concentration without being in any way thick or sweet. Stunning old vine complexity of flavours and well integrated oak - so that there's no trace of where the fruit ends and the oak begins. Powerful yet lifted and fresh with a wonderful purity of fruit which reminds me of Sassicaia. Drinking very well now although this will clearly age. A delicious bottle and a masterclass in …

Closed at first but then began to show this gorgeous boysenberry, blue-fruited palate with notes of tobacco and great spice-driven complexity on the finish. Still young and definitely on the Bordeaux side of Napa with a very reasonable level of alcohol, wonderful crisp acids and great floral lift. The finish sports a perfect espression of Napa Cabernet in my opinion with subtle notes of black currants, dark chocolate, espresso beans and sweet dark earth. Lovers of full-throttle, high-alcohol Napa Cabs …

Needed a good hour decant. Then a nose of green tobacco leaf and ripe cassis. This is a really crunchy, old world-style wine with Napa dark fruit flavors but in a crisp style. Really tangy and mineral-crunchy on the finish with notes of green tobacco, dark cherry, blackberry and hints of eucalyptus and minerals. So fresh and just impossible to stop drinking. Look, if you like the rich, opulent style of most Napa Cabs, this wine is going to shock …

A cool wet year. Decanted 2hrs. Dark purple. A muted nose with just some vague dark fruits and black tea. Good concentration of blackcurrant fruit but I found the tannins slightly drying as if the fruit was not quite fully ripe. Lacks the concentration and sweetness of the 2012 which is a much better bet.

Gorgeous wine with perfect balance and exactly what I'm looking for in Napa Cabernet; real freshness along with excellent intensity and richness. There are incredible flavors of black currants, eucalyptus and violet spice. Finishes extraordinarily complex with zingy acids and minerals. 13% alcohol so there will never be any chocolate mess or overripe flavors in this beauty that drinks like a real thoroughbred.

Deep, but not opaque, purple. Heady aromas. Smooth mouthfeel, nicely balanced, without obtrusive tannin. Elegance over power. Flavors don't quite live up to the aromas--perhaps at an awkward point right now?
