Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils Chardonnay Bourgogne Blanc

My last bottle. Still drinking well enough, but at least a year or two past its proper drinking window.

Holding up well for Bourgogne this old, clearly helped by the wine's lean acidity. Lots of lemon, lemon peel and lemon curd still coming through nicely.

Mature apple aromas and flavors with a little bit of lemon curd. Still good, but this was slightly better when slightly more fresh a year or two back.

Apple and lemon aromas, slightly mature. Similar flavors with dry good concentration for Bourgogne. Better a year ago than today, but I expect this will hold at a good quality level for another year or two. I have a few more left and will have to find and finish them this year.

Slightly floral start with lemon and lemon peel. Similar flavors on palate with great acidity, moderate minerality. Great for its level. Best now through 2014.

Decided to revisit this wine after last night's corked bottle. Modestly floral with powerful citrus aromas and flavors, then good energy on finish. Incredibly well done for the wine's level.

Moderately corked. Started similar to another bottle opened about a month ago, slightly less fresh and energetic, then faded quickly.

Slightly floral nose with strong lemon and lemon oil aromas. Very linear flavors also show same lemon and lemon zest with lots of energy and minerality, then some spice hints on the long finish. Really impressive Bourgogne level wine, this demonstrates the 2007 vintage perfectly.

Light toward medium straw colour. This presents spicy apples, pear, lightly buttered toast and white floral aromatics. The palate is clean and shows more precision than most Bourgogne Blancs in this price range. A bit tight, this opened after a few minutes to white peach, guava and a clean mineral essence on the palate. Refreshing and bright, with medium acidity and a medium finish. Quite nice for the price. Drink thru 2013.

A (mostly) Burgundy Seminar with Pierre Rovani (Spiaggia, Chicago IL) : nose: nice light nose of lemons, bits of minerals, various citrus tones, and some bits of stones. Fairly standard nose for a bourg blanc from a good producer taste: light and balanced citrus tones hit first with some nice tones of lemon peels and minerals.
