Classic Morlet Napa Cabernet -- beautiful dark fruit with emerging savory, cedar, and mineral notes. Polished, well-integrated tannins (especially with air) and excellent balance and length. Drinking great now with food, with structure to age. Love it.

Powerful, full-bodied Haut Medoc-style blend (Cabernet Sauvignon 86%, Cab Franc 8%, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot), fabulous complexity with notes of dark fruit, cacao, old leather, oak, very long finish. Paired with Cantonese Quail at Addison, San Diego.

Bought this from a different seller and while still amazing, not quite as good as the last bottle. Similar notes to last tasting though

This wine was even better than the last bottle. Decanted for 2-1/2 hrs with a fair amount of sediment. Beautiful aromas of blackberries, plum and cigar box. On the palate, concentrated layers of blackberries and mocha. The tannins were silky smooth. This full bodied wine was perfectly in balance. Close to perfection.

After an hour of air, opens up to soft tannins, rich fruit. Excellent

Tasted at property. As good as it gets for California Cabernet. Enjoyed this wine multiple times over the last 3 years and it is probably at peak, but will last for years to come if that is your taste. Beautifully expressive and textured bouquet. Rich and smooth on the palate. Nothing is out of balance.

Wowza. Decanted for 2 hours. There was a substantial amount of sediment in the bottle. This Mon Chevalier is deep purple with pronounced aromas of blackberry and currant. On the first sip, the blackberries and cassis burst from the glass with layers of mocha, licorice and graphite. The tannins are prominent but fully integrated creating a balanced wine with medium acidity and alcohol. This full bodied wine has a long finish. This can easily wait another decade but I think …

Muted fruit and secondary flavors. Well within drinking window. Glad there's a second bottle.

This ‘14 ‘Mon Chevalier’ from Morlet Family Vineyards surprised me front to back. Why? My eyes were opened with how fresh this wine still is, so primary with some added age nuances. While broad shouldered, this wine has a lot of fresh complexities that evolve as you drink. Notes of bay leaf, blackberry jam, dried green herbs, a hint of mocha. Tannins silky but still ever-present. I’d say this is hitting a perfect drinking window but no rush on these. …

Started off slow, after a decant. But air and time allowed it to blossom.

Blown away. See James Suckling and Jeb Dunnick gushing reviews. Crème de Cassis, subtle licorice loamy earth complex with toasted oak. Goes on and on. Slight minerality on the finish but it’s all there in the right proportions. Classic old world Bordeaux style with California power behind it. Drinking extremely well this should last a very long time. We are very impressed with this 2014.

This is indeed a very good, if not excellent, quality wine. The 2014 vintage has reached a wonderful stage, displaying remarkable depth and considerable length on the palate. The fruit profile is rich and robust, yet avoids the pitfalls of overripeness or excessive warmth. Furthermore, the integration of wood adds a pleasing complement to the fruit character. While enjoyable now, this wine undoubtedly possesses the potential to age gracefully for many years to come.

As with prior 14's, definitely more pronounced oak that vintages since then. Quite well balanced

This lively and layered mountain blend is drinking well right now, though I suspect a few more years will smooth its remaining edges. Dark red in color and full in body, the wine offers aromas of blueberry, graphite, and dried pine needles. The flavors are more generous, with notes of black cherry, espresso, and bay leaf (and other baking spices), with a bright finish showing refreshing acidity and dusty tannin. Blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cab Franc, 3% Merlot, …

Beautiful Bordeaux blend. Decanted for 1 hour. Great complexity, finish and reminiscent of Pauillac. Lead pencil some tobacco notes very floral. Tertiary notes are there but slight. This wine could go 20 more years. Drink now with air or hold. If you like Left Bank BDX this is a buy.

It’s got a lightsaber on the label! Medium red. Moderate aromas of apple and forest floor. Dry, medium body, crisp acidity, medium dry tannins, and good balance. Flavors of cherries, red apple and grape stem.

Pop and pour. Gorgeous Morlet Cab showing beautifully with red and black fruit, fabulous acid balance, supple tannins. The palate is bright and full. This is one of the first 2014 Napa Cabs I've had that didn't have a hint of "too early."

Three hour decant. Very very deep ruby magenta color. Boysenberry, blueberry, raw walnut, semi-sweet fudge and subtle fresh mint on the nose. Smooth, dry, dark, intense palate, with fine acidity. Firm tannins on the long finish.

Pencil shavings, Dark berries, Earth & Oak, Cocoa...intense nose. Attack is equally intense but slips seemlessly into a sexy, elegant mid palate. Balance is impeccable. Layers of cab fruit, fine fine oak, and modest earth. Has the stuffing to age well but this is so damn tasty now. Beautiful Cabernet.

Drank with Alejandra on Super Bowl Sunday. Opened up nicely after decant and time in glass. Beautiful, well made wine with great balance, nuance and texture. Nose of graphite, blackberry and dried flowers. Reminded me of Latour (from memory). I would love to see how this will evolve.
