I tried this on release, thought it was terrific and bought a case. Glad I did as it is absolutely humming now. On the nose you get some smoked meats, iron and cherry fruit. It is plush and velvety with great depth and complexity for its level. The finish has good minerally detail.

Drank this initially on my own as I thought it was going to be over but was very pleasantly surprised to find how drinkable it was. Probably at its best, a light nose but still buckets of fruit, unmistakably burgundy and drinking now. May hit wine searcher to get a case!

Recanted two hours before drinking. Excellent before, with and after lamb.

Solid, hairspray, complex pinot sap, old vine, not your run of the mill 02. A tad angular, I'd give it 2-3 years yet.

On release this wine was a ‘ripsnorter’ and I duly bought a case to tuck away, I’m happy to report that its developing well. The nose is taking on a little moss and undergrowth development as well as quite bright perfume of cherry. In the mouth there’s liqueur cherry at the heart and sour cherries along the extremities and the whole package is trimmed nicely by freshly tilled earth. It shows more density than by rights it perhaps should and …

Pale medium ruby/garnet. Immediately quite open on the nose with some ripe if not particularly focussed strawberry fruit. Distinct farmyardy edge, hints of earth. Very fresh on the palate, the acidity even perhaps a bit jarring. Some quite attractive red fruit on the moderately intense mid-palate though, with some earthy complexity before a rather short and tannic finish. Good, but drink up.

Dark ruby, subdued nose of cherries and earth, good ripe red fruits / iron in the mouth. Opened up over time and became more expansive / round. This is a screaming value and should be purchased in case + quantities in good years. Puts 1er's from moderate vintages to shame.

This is showing really well right now. The three years I've had this in the cellar have allowed it to crack open aromatically, and it's now showing nice secondary characteristics of earth and added volume to the seductive Pinot aromas on the nose. soft red fruit and earth. Delicious.

Lovely purple robe. Moderate to mildly expressivle nose of red fruits, cloves, spices, talc, and a light touch of violets. A bit closed in initially, but after decanting, and an hour and a half (whilst we watched Monty Python & The Holy Grail after an SMU football game (and victory)) it is a bit more expressive. Plenty of tannins still present, but red fruits in the foreground -- with cherry after half an hour and rasberries after an hour and …

$26.99 retail. Beautiful, ripe Pinot fruit - black cherry / strawberry. Quite perfumed. A real over-achiever. One to drink in the next few years in order to enjoy the pure, penetrating fruit. With "simple" Bourgognes like this out there, it still amazes me that there is a market for domestic Pinot in the $30+ range...
