Amizetta, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley

Great dark ruby color. Still has legs. Raspberry truffle, cardamom, bay, cocoa nibs, deep dark cherry, ylang ylang. Tame tannins, a bit of acid but still fairly in balance, but drink with leaner leg of lamb and vegetables. A well built wine that evolved over the hour.

Poured immediately, did not decant. Nose of black cherry, raspberry and currant with a touch of lead pencil. Opened up slightly more after about 30 minutes. Almost syrupy rich cherry flavors mid-palate, medium bodied and dry with very soft tannins. Medium to full length finish with some spices coming through at the end. Paired nicely with lamb kebab over brown rice.

Opened at the Haggis aloha party. A little thinner then the other cabs at this event. Moderate tannins. Notes of cherry and raspberry. 86-87 points.

Decanted 1 hour. Silky smooth on the palate. Started really sweet almost over-the-top but really came together nicely as the evening went on. Seamless transition to the finish. Very nice!

Decanted for 30 minutes. Medium to full-bodied wine that is dark garnet in color. On the nose, subdued dark fruits and lightly toasted oak. On the palate, cassis, blackberries, and vanilla. Well-balanced wine that provides a nice mouthfeel and ends in a lengthy 30-second finish. Frankly, this wine would be worth another point or two if the nose becomes more expressive down the road.
