Past prime but still a nice food beverage. Largely earth driven with fading fruit.

Fruit. Undertones. Layers. Finish. Yup. Slam dunk of a good wine

Medium ruby. On open, surprisingly restrained nose, but explosive on the palate. Red berries, rose petals, some green stemminess. Rich, medium-full bodied, with mouth-watering acidity and low, fine tannin. Yummy. Drinking great now.

Amazingly bright and acidic for a 2014. Deep garnet in color and full of bing cherry and red fruit. Lively w medium body. Long finish that includes some bramble and cherry tarts. Really dancing and I probably wont open another for a few years just to see some change. No tsigns of tiredness at all, but if you like em young this is really singing.

Good but not great. Expected more from this high end single vineyard Pommard clone Pinot from the RRV. Probably held this one too long. Drink now if you still have one.

Still lively, great color, cherry on nose and some darker fruits on palate. Nice acidity. Have gravitated away from appellation blends to focus on the single vineyard (Klopp & Meredith mostly), but this is really well made and a great PQR. Not sure how it will be in the future post retirement, but wish I had a lot more of these. No rush to drink but probably not alot of improvement from here

This bottle made me sad. It smelled like swamp gas, and tasted a bit flat. It’s not corked, or flawed, but most of the fruit is gone. There is still some tannin and heat from the alcohol. We’ll see what it’s like on day two. Edit: Day two, and it’s a little bit better. Less funk, slightly more fruit, and the alcohol has softened.

There is still some tannin left. Beautiful fruit aroma and flavors of cherry, raspberry, and pepper. It was also complex from its age - tertiary aromas of some dried fruit, earthiness, and tobacco. It had a high intensity of flavor and aroma

Still big. Lots of fruit. Some undertones. Had with duck and an excellent match. Can hold longer for sure

Ripe and floral scents of cherries, pastille, and spices show bottle age complexity. Mature, integrated, and nicely balanced, with spicy oak and refreshing brightness seguing into Tropical Punch persistence.

Spiced red cherry fruit more hot than anything else. Not quite cinnamon red hots but close. That said I like love those candies. Doesn't really become candy but an indication of the sweetish nature.

Boot leather strap, tart pomegranate seeds, red currant, some sweet orange marmalade and chalky tannins. Seems to have a long way to go, but very enjoyable to drink now. p.s. Tuscan shrimp with cilantro rice and green beans

Excellent tannins and fruit balance. Would have scored higher but drinking a little hot due to the 14.4% alcohol level. Day 2: Pumped down over night. The alcohol bite was gone all the great flavors that you want to see in an aged bottle came to the front 94 pts.

Excellent wine, this 2014 was as good as it gets. 2014 was a terrific year in Oregon, and this winery took advantage of it. I wish I could buy more !

Still a youthful deep ruby in color, this medium-bodied Pinot is laden with aromas and flavors of Bing cherries, baking spices, red licorice and black tea. Freshly acidic, softly oaked and with nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 14.4%), it wraps its fruit with medium silky tannins, has a solid mid-palate and finishes long. This well-crafted blend from multiple vineyard sources should continue to show well for another 3-4 years. Drink now-2022.

Had this at a Merry Edwards wine tasting with paired food courses: This wine was paired with pan seared Nova Scotia halibut. A bit of a let down. This wine was medium red color and had a spicy nose of cherry and raspberry. The mouth feel was much more this than I had expected. The wine was the product of the mixing of (6) single vineyard pinot's from there various vineyards. Bright and cherry dominant.

Red berries, cherry cola, white pepper, river rock and soy sauce. Such a stunning cuvee that shows the true Russian River persona. Fat, silky tannins and a medium-long finish. I see no reason to wait. Drink now - 2023.

30 minute decant and drank over the next 30. Medium garnet in color. Beautiful nose of rose petals, raspberries and strawberries. Taste is similar, semi-sweet with notes of licorice, allspice and a little pepper on the finish. Excellent balance of tannins and acidity. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Medium bodied and more on the elegant side without sacrificing big flavors. Well done. Will buy more. Really impressed with the wines from this winery so far. 92.5

Darker in color than many popular PNs, these days. Light hit of plum flavors on entry. Very nice. A bit of bitterness towards the rear of the tongue/palate. My suspicion that it is tannin. This is not a wine with “puckery” tannin—no surprise there—but I can’t image where that sensation comes from. Meanwhile the time it takes me to write this is longer than the sensation is observable. This wine does fall into the “elegant” or soft category. IPOB aficionados …

Vinturied/decanted for a couple hours, a weak feckless effort for the $$. Thin with no mid bodied structure. It perked up with food but so does 3 buck chuck. Would not re buy at the $$$ point.

Oak dominates the nose with some sweet pie crust underneath. After opening the bottle there was wet earth and a dark crushed berry, but those quickly gave way to the wood and the sweet fruit. Quite tasty palate with vibrant acid and a pleasing finish. Medium body. Leans toward the rounder side but structured with some grip on the finish. A pleasing bottle of Pinot.

Pure fruit where the nose is dominated by red berries but on the palate some darker berries appear. We find raspberries and cherries, but also some marzipan notes that gives a slightly sweet touch. The acidity is good and balances the wine and there is a careful tannic structure.

Packed with Bing cherries, baking spices, raspberries and notes of earth, this deep ruby, medium-bodied Pinot is delicious from the get-go. Freshly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (14.4%) and with medium-weight sweet tannins, it is dense on the mid-palate and closes with good length. This is yet another solid offering from Merry Edwards. This deep ruby wine is effusive of Bing cherries, raspberries, baking spices and earth on both the nose and palate. Medium-bodied, fresh, seamlessly alcoholic (14.4%) and with medium-weight silky tannins, it stays solid on the middle palate and glides to a lengthy finish. Beautiful fruit and soft textures make this Pinot a joy to drink. Enjoy it over the next 4-5 years. Drink now-2021.
