Grgić Vina Pošip

Popped and poured at fridge temp. I think previous tasters had this a tad too early. This is in a very nice spot now, with ripe apricot and a good dose of minerality, both on the nose and the palate. Nice acidity to hold the wine up. This reinforces my feeling that good Pošip needs time to come out of its shell.

Beautiful nose of vibrant yellow fruit and a whiff of vanilla. Medium bodied and dry on the palate delivering yellow stone fruit (plums,perhaps some apricot) but with a slightly harsh or austere aspect. Felt it with the first sip and after a couple of glasses. Could be the alcohol pushing through, of course(14,3%). Anyway, this wasn´t as good as some Posips I had in Croatia when I bought the bottle. Too expensive as well.

I had quite high expectations of this but was ultimately disappointed. More specifically, I can't quite tell whether it was in the very early stages of oxidation or was supposed to be like this. In any case, it had a very strong petrol aroma and was at the same time both very dry and quite fat (though not flabby). A bizarre wine, quite unlike other more straightforward Posip's I had in Croatia.
