First bottle opened from a lot purchased at auction. Slow ox, enjoyed over 2-3h with chicken, shrimp and Thai red curry. Plenty of vanilla, spices, berries, and camphor on the nose. The palate expression has ample cherries and raspberries, mouth coating gylcerine, perfectly balanced acid, spices and black pepper in this finish. Excellent restraint, fruit, balance, and complexity, more old world than new world. Very hard to tell if I prefer the '15 or the '16 vintages better, they are …

Inky AF and fully opaque, a very rich purple in the glass with thick legs belying the 14.2% kick. Rich, layered notes of red currants, very ripe cherry, cigar box, blueberry ganache and blackberry. The palate is full bodied, showing medium tannins and juicy acidity. The red and blue fruit flavors are complemented by the cedar and I also get some menthol. There is a hint of Brazilian roasted coffee bean to boot. There is another, indescribable note I’m having …

In the decanter for an hour or so prior to drinking. Definitely moving towards garnet, pronounced ripe baked red fruits, redcurrant, red cherry and dark red plum, a little cedar oak and some dried red fruits in the background too. There is a bit of intensity and complexity going on here but the balance is bit out with the fruit weighting, body and acid, and the length is tad short for my liking. I think the decant time was right …

Clear medium (+) ruby, with a hint of garnet. The nose is clean, with ripe to jammy red cherry, black fruit (cherry and plum), blueberry, olive, dried herbs, black pepper, leather, some earthiness and some oak-induced sweet spices. The nose is developing (+). The palate is dry, with medium (+) tannins, medium acid and high alcohol (14.6%). The palate is consistent with the nose, with ripe, jammy fruit. The wine has a medium (+) body, flavor intensity and length. This …

Mehhhhhh.....Bought a few bottles at the end of a 4 hour tasting. Jokes on me. Oh well, was looking for a new fourth meal wine. Mission complete. Super thin and disinteresting.

Satisfying and jammy. More balanced than expected based on CT reviews. Decanted for two hours, which helped a lot. I'm not typically one for this style, but it went well with tonight's dinner. I'd buy more.

This was a fairly alcoholic blackberry fruit bomb. It was so hot initially that I didn't enjoy very much; however on day two, The heat softened and secondary notes of mocha and licorice came through. Excellent use of oak in the wine. medium finish. Day two brought up the score by at least 2 points for me

Bar pour. A dinner companion asked me what my least favorite red wine was, and I said Australian Shiraz. So he bought me a glass of this stuff. It sure was ripe. Reminded me of macerated blackberries. It was not jammy. It was fresh, macerated berries. And then there were more berries. Then a truck drove by and dumped a load of blackberries on my head. Then we had a thunderstorm, and it hailed blackberries. Eventually the shot 'o vodka …

The Two Hands' web site says this is not available in the US, but I was able to order it at Max's Wine Dive in Houston. Very friendly berry profile...Raspberry, blackberry, dewberry, balanced with solid acidity. Not a rough edge to be found...certainly a fruit bomb - but very well made.
