Pheasant Ridge Proprietor's Reserve Limited Release

Greatness at its best. Still has many, many years left! Wish we had more.

At 11 years into the vintage, this is still drinking well. Refer to earlier notes for details. This is my last one, so unless someone out there still has some, and reports back to us, we can only guess how long could actually last. Pheasant Ridge is still selling vintages older than most wineries do at this price point, so one should not be afraid to give them a try.

Aromas of black currant, cedar, and sour cherry in the nose leading to black currant, cherry and a bit of raspberry on the palate. Perfectly balanced start to finish, with the moderate alcohol making this a very food friendly bordeax blend. At six years into the vintage, the fruit has not faded, but the tannins are quite mellowed, showing again that this estate winery's decision to release later than most of their Lone Star State competitors is one to be …
