Hard to believe, but this is my very first Whitcraft. It won’t be my last. Lustrous, deep ruby. Very distinctive nose of pomegranate and wild berry. Impeccable balance of fruit, acid and tannin, very harmonious. Excellent. 5-13-17-9: 94/100.

One of the most beautiful wines I’ve had in a long time, this is so good that I’m going to open my second of two bottles next weekend for my daughter’s college graduation. This sparkles with charm from the get-go, deftly resisting any unneeded push or acceleration from there. It just unfolds beautifully off its initial burst, transfixing like the pom of a firework, with unwavering balance through various handsome phases. Long and heavenly. What a delight. Why not drink …

Opened the day before by John. Now day 2. Aromas with a hint of VA, tart cherries, a bit of cranberries and raspberries, and herbs. Ripe red cherries on palate with herbs, bark and a bit of earth. Elegant mouthfeel with excellent acids. Mild tannins and a nice finish.

Freshly opened fruit rollup and the smell of walking into a magazine shop that also sells pipe tobacco. Juicy juicy ripe raspberry, Hawaiian Punch, and cherry/orange fruit leather on the palate. Medium+ acid. Remarkably long finish. So good.

Fresh just-ripe raspberry, blueberry, and boysenberry. Evolved nicely over the course of the meal. Enjoyed at least three years too early. Bell’s Restaurant.

13% alc. Amazing scarlet/ruby color. Nose: decaying flowers, lavender, a little cola, spice. Palate: pure, fresh scarlet red fruit without earth. Medium/med- bodied. Primary, fresh and lightweight silky. Picked up weight and sweetness with air. Then raspberry coulis. Then cranapple. A fun wine to try again in 5 years. Let fruit deepen, acids soften.
