Very advanced, golden color, shy nose, yellow apples past their prime, butterscotch and a hint of oxidation. Palate has similar notes but adds juicy lemon and crushed rock and sunshine and is still quite alive and almost electric. If you told me this was 35 or 40 years old I would say it’s an amazing wine experience. At barely 12 years old I quite like but I doubt it would be everyone’s cup of tea.

Broad shouldered but not over the top. Racy acidity some peanut butter, herbs. Different aroma than Burg but lovely in its own right.

The Ramey Wine Cellar "Platt Vineyard" 2012 Sonoma Coast is not really a Cool Climate representative, but a wine from a renowned house. Then, as now, it was all too much for me. In contrast to Monte Bello, where that was also the case, but coherent and sexy, this is ostentatious with lots of cassis, some morning urine, banana, cabbage, wood. No, I didn't like drinking this. 2012 Platt Chardonnay is phenomenally shining now. Light, crisp, floral, minuscule amounts of oak just enough to bring out the butter at the end. This is a perfect balance of New Oaken Butter Napa style with a fusion of the light floral eccentric french style. Drink now - end of 2022. Pairs phenomenally well with sushi, server cold and let it warm up to add depth and change to the wine.

Delicious, nice minerality. Wish I had purchased a few more bottles despite the price.

PnP. Had with broiled Rockfish. Light straw. Slow legs 14.5%. On the nose Lemon oil/mineral. Chablis like. Still bright and enegetic with mouthwatering acidity, good minerailty. Some tropical fruit after it warmed up. Medium body, no sharp edges, crisp on the palate, well balanced. Very tasty! Update: Had again on 10/6/21. This time with roast pork covered with apple/raisin/glazed onions. Pairing was not good fit Chardonnay, but still worked well. Shows how flexible and good this wine is. Last sip …

Monthly Tasting Group: Worldwide Chardonnay (Oceanaire, Mpls, MN) : Small pour. Earthy, citrus, lemon drop, oak. The palate is full bodied, layered, lemon oil, ripe, apple butter, good mineral notes, and a hint of roasted almond. Liked it a lot.

Intensives Goldgelb. Toll!

Very similar showing to my last bottle. Constantly one of my favorite Chardonnays from Cali. In this warmer year nice middle-ground between Cali fruit and buttery notes and mineral driven „French“ style Chardonnay. Really nice.

Medium golden color. Notes of citrus, some butter, sweet spices, some steely minerality, smoke, but also some first notes of age like honey and nuttiness. It‘s medium-full bodied, with good medium+ acidity and a nice overall balance. Very good length too. A very pretty Platt and it has aged nicely.. I would drink this over the next 2-3 years though to preserve the freshnss and tension this vineyard offers.

Quite possibly the greatest white wine I have ever had. Amazing depth! Citrus fruits and minerality with a finish that won’t quit. A wine that lives up to its reputation.

Lemon and citrus give this a great acidity. Tropical fruits give this flavor and some richness. Overall another balanced and excellent Ramey.

Nice appearance, bright and looks like summer in a glass. When I first tasted it, just after opening the bottle, I was a little disappointed, but after leaving it for a while, that impression changed. The Chardonnay aroma comes through, oaky and smokey. Apricot, citrus, tropical and stone fruits. Well balanced, elegant and fresh. Lightly creamy. Will go nicely with seafood, such as mussels and st Jacques.

Loved this - best drinking chard I've had in awhile - not over the top and enough structure to really make it interesting

Popped and poured at Mad Hatters on Sanibel Island, consumed over 2 hours. Nose: Expressive scents of apricot, stone fruit, creme brule, and lemon pie with undertones of anise and vanilla. Palate: Medium-full bodied, creamy mouth-feel, tropical fruit attack with plenty of acidic back-bone to balance it out. Finish: Lengthy 45-60 second finish showing tropical fruit, minerals and vanilla. Paired wonderfully with crab cakes and black grouper.
