Domaine Jacques Carillon Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes

A little disappointing I thought. Lacked the real energy and weight on the palate I am looking for at 1er Cru level.

Rich, dense, and round. A bit thick and heavy, showing the 20’ vintage for sure — i would have preferred a bit more acidity and tension on the palate, but this was pretty good.

Dense, rich and sappy. Has loads of white peach and ginger along with smoky minerals. It is rich and textural, with a touch of wood showing. The finish is spicy and long.

Very serious wine. Apples, flowers, lemon, and chalky. School example of finesse and precision. It did get more rounded and approachable with 2 hours of air. Keep this bottle away for 4-6 years and you will be rewarded. 92-93p.
