Much better than the bottle we had a month ago, this was a typical rich Ripassa where the fruitiness was still there faintly but it had developped into a richer flavor with raisins and chocolate

After a two hour decant a rather subdued nose with hints of herbs, leather, kirsch and a bit of earthy fruit. The wine still looks very youthful, dense and plummy. If the nose is a little reticent the flavour isn't - this is a really big wine with loads of chocolate, cherry and plums. Deep, dense extraction and quite a bit of kirsch here. Young wine still. For under £10 this is very impressive now but has years of development …

Wonderful with the penne and meat sauce dinner. Great forward cherry fruit and nose. The nose died down a bit after being exposed but on the palate the lucious cherry fruit stayed throughout the bottle (3 hours). Don't believe there is much left to improve though with age so drink up.

Solid everyday drinker. Rich mouth feel. Nice flavors of bing cherry, plum, leather and blackberry. Soft tannins with just the right acidity. Perfect baby Amarone.

Lovely saturated purple; very intense aromas, bright red fruit but also purple and black fruit (plums, spices); on the palate a lovely weight of sweet and ripe fruit, a firm structure with ripe tannins, velvety texture; excellent length. Very convincing, drinking very well already.
