Russk. Great nose. Nose of the night. Earthy mature, starting to fade by the end of the night. One of my WOTN. Blind, I called it as an Alto Adige PN. I would buy this in younger vintages. I agree with the reviewer below, mostly.

At 8 years of age this wine is drinking quite nicely. Framboise du bois leaps into the nose and that delicious taste stays in the mouth long after swallowing. Volnay in Alto Adige! Medium bodied, elegant, dry, nice fine tannins. It was best after having opened it for two days. Kept it for a week without much decline in fruit or tannins.

I ordered the wine with lunch at the restaurant of hotel Adler Dolomiti in Alto Adige. Popped and poured from a half-bottle. The cork was almost soaked. The wine was medium ruby in colour. It offered red fruit and cherry flavours and a good, creamy mouthfeel. I re-corked the bottle and had the rest two days later. The wine now offered red fruits, cake mixture, spices and chocolate ring cake on the nose. On the palate the wine showed sweet …
