Drinking very well. Sturdy and meaty in personality. Lovely ripe Cabernet - not a hint of green, some smoke, leather and ripe currants. Plummy, and almost sultana in its ripeness. Some old oak character, but in general this is opulent, with some furry tannins, and a surprisingly well-modulated finish. Drinking well in a plateau of maturity, and will continue to evolve, although I don’t imagine this will improve. Very good.

13.5% alcohol. No info on grape mix, but from tasting CS seems vastly in the lead. Short cork of excellent quality with distinctive inscription. Dark colour all the way to the rim. The nose is fresh with blackcurrant and a pleasant leafy aspect; there are also tertiary notes of leather, and no noticeable oak. Similarly light footed in the mouth, with an overwhelmingly juicy character; some unresolved tannins and a hint of greenness in the finish, but also a refreshing …

Good value. Nice every day sipping… best with food … drank with blue cheese, pears and almonds .. medium bodied, dark fruits with notes of black tea, tobacco leaf and hint of cedar.

My last and drunk at the right time whilst maintaining some St.Estèphe grip. Drink up soon.

Smells like nail polish remover, tastes gross. VA?

What is it about St Estèphe that causes such a variance in views? This was a superb bottle much as my November '21 note - if anything a tad more concentrated. At its peak - but based on this and recent bottles at least another couple years to go at this level.

Definitely not a wine you need to stock in your cellar. It is a shame how this Saint-Estèphe has faded out, considering the millésime 2010. I will use the remaining bottles for cooking.

Drinking very well. Mature appearance. À point red stoned fruit with some softer dark berries in the background. Gentle sweet spice. Dusty integrated tannins and firm core acidity complement each other. Medium bodied but excellent concentration of flavour. Good length. Like many St.Estèphes this wine has come in and out of drinking windows over time but I suspect this is its last blossoming. I will be drinking my remaining bottles over the next year.

Medium body. Very elegant and i feel it has improved since my last tasting. It has a lot of red bright fruit with some lifting acidity. Well balanced.

Very nice St. Etephe - cure nose of graphite and subtle currants. Some nice fresh mushroom notes appear with time in the glass. The palate is in early maturity, with direct currants fruit, reasonably elevated tannins, and is still quite tight. A bit of earth and a focused finish add up to a well-made wine that is not a spectacular expression of the vintage. Solid, if not outstanding.Wine Advocate says drinking till 2023, but I imagine this will age beyond …

Took about 2.5 hours for any fruit to show up - black/blueberries, olive, gravel, barrel toast. Hot & as someone said sour.

Not actually undrinkable but grippless and lacking any of the characteristics of my February note (91pts). Hopefully a one-off rogue!

Attendre 3 ans.

Quite fruity, even a touch jammy. Blueberry & blackcurrant, nice tannin, perhaps a slightly short finish but this is quite good even if a touch too fruity for my liking. Bone dry though so classically Bordeaux but I would have almost guessed 2009 rather than 2008! Could be very good with steak.

Some three years since my last bottle and now really at its peak. Classic St Estèphe. À point plum and dark hedge fruit, savoury notes and integrated dusty tannins. Earth and smoke. Grippy. Touch of capsid acid brings balance. Excellent. Now and for the next couple of years (at least).

Classy left bank - bright and lip smacking black currant notes, beautiful top notes of camphor, leather, herbs, and vegemite. In the mouth, not hugely generous, and the mid palate lacks some intensity, but it has class, structure, and balance. The wine convinces on its balance, and feels very much a food wine. Not a great wine from 2010, but it’s a honest wine that is delicious, and lacks any underripe characteristics.

Glad to have had the patience to drink this bottle of wine over 3 days. At the beginning, this St.Estephe is austere with rough tannins, restricted fruit and strong acidity (84-85P). On day two it was slightly better, but still with this inhomogeneity of day one. The finish was short with edgy tannins and strong acidity (86-87). Day three shows this CB in much better condition than day 1 and 2. Now you can smell and taste blackberries, raspberries – …

Fresh and pleasant, but out of balance at the moment. Very little fruit and tannin and very much acidity and alcohol. Not easy to place it in Bordeaux. Better when I had it 2 years ago.

all right but rather forgettable. Lacking fruit, can't imagine it would be worth the effort in a lesser vintage.

Cru Bourgeois 2014 tasting: savvy consumers take note (Office of the Alliance de Cru Bourgeois, downtown Bordeaux) : This had been taken from cask 9 days earlier. And yet very smooth and subtle overall, even if the tannins are just a touch raw. But this shows much promise! Bravo.

Color: dark purple. Nose: fresh red and dark fruit, slightly peppery. Taste: quite good and fresh dark and red fruit, with a slightly peppery, herbal and flowery note. Tannins as well as acidity were more resolved than three months ago. At the second day cherry-liquor in the taste. Attractive wine, that matched garden beans with pork-chops very well. 87-88.

Kept under condition 2, probably since 2011. Popped and poured, in the glass after aeration. Color: dark purple. Nose: good, fresh fruit. Taste: good fresh fruit with a herbal note like basil, oregano or sage. The tannins are fine but not fully resolved. The acidity is also not integrated. But regarding earlier notes of this wine, it was a pleasant surprise for me. At the fourth day the acidity was better integrated, but the alcohol (13,5%) more prominent. To keep …
