Decanted off considerable sediment. Still bright, fresh and lively. And a strong pairing with roast lamb.

Medium + dark ruby. Medium intense nose of dark plum, dark cherries, raspberries, lavender, whiff of bacon, some black pepper. Palate similar. Fresh acidity and a quite juicy style that is well integrated. Was decent on a stand alone basis, but really shined when paired with game. Beautiful harmony. Paired with reindeer and veggies. Medium body, medium acidity and medium- tannins.

Meh. While a couple of years has taken away the vanilla and other off-piste elements, the remainder is a pretty generic wine, though clearly Syrah. Red fruits are pleasant and there a good savory core that holds this together. Not bad and just on the plus side of boring.

Notes from the last bottle still accurate. Wish I had more of these... On day 2 some more subtly is starting to emerge, still no hard edges to this wine, balance excellent, flavors delightful. I'd guess the lack of tannic depth limits aging potential to another 5 years, but with this in such a good place, why wait.

Unfortunately this was a bit wtf. Banana, acetone, and black olive on the nose, alongside something green and vegetal-bordering-on-algal. Tart and frankly rather unpleasant on the palate at first, although as it continues, some oxygen helps, and it turns into a much nicer, more sour cherry-dominant flavor, with the vegetal aroma fading. I know a lot of Northern Rhone wines can be intensely savory, but this was a bridge too far.

Opened 45 minutes and a quick chill in refrigerator, wife just got a shipment of Rancho Gordo beans and made a nice pasta e fagiola with cranberry beans. The wine is drinking well, evolved nicely to finish with some ripe Camembert. Yum.

Served what felt like a little warmer than the Pax Hillsides that went alongside, cloudy purple, so floral, violets galore, leather, deep macerated purple berries, almost all fruit right now, there is an incredible umami if not oily texture that is impressive and weird at the same time, clearly something natty and special but also may be best not to drink this on day two for fear of something waking up in the wine after exposure to air, tasty and …

Medium violet in the glass. Freeeesh fruit on the nose, complemented by black olives and some stalky character. Medium-bodied with a bright acidity and just a lick of tannins. Great Syrah made with less extraction, but still so much character. Was like a glass of ice-cold water in a lineup of big reds.

Winemaking in a similar style to his gamay, this is fresh syrah made to be drunk now. Dark berries with a hint of meat and earthiness, plenty of minerality. Bright acidity and present tannins but definitely on the lighter more integrated side.

Great for drinking now, vineyard location close enough to today's Tour de France stage to qualify as a "vin d'étape." Intriguing nose, great balance (flavors, tannins, acidity) on the palate, smooth finish. Somewhat mono-dimensional but given the youth of the wine to be expected. This inhabits a space of its own for me when compared to the many other Syrahs I've had. Only negative is this is no longer the wild bargain it used to be.

Have enjoyed several vintages of this wine and also love his gamay noir. I agree with most reviewers here, amazing qpr, nothing overly complex but incredibly fresh and pure syrah, meant to be drunk on the young side. My only warning is that every vintage of this wine suffers from THP on the finish IF left to be consumed on partially on day 2. Drink these quickly!

Still one of my favorite Rhône Syrah values every year. It is very hard to find a more enjoyable example that has such impeccable farming credentials for $25 or so. Bright, energetic, a tiny bit juicy. Superb.

In a world where most Syrahs are huge beasts, this precise and focused expression is a welcome change. While not incredibly complex, it is certainly delicious and layered enough to hold your attention for a while. I am looking forward to buying more from this producer.

PnP with charcuterie and pizza. Balanced with lovely purity of fruit. Really enjoy his style. Have experienced some THP (mousey) in the previous vintage on day2, but not in this bottle. Not a style meant for aging, but enjoying pure expression. Lovely stuff.

This is a light bodied Syrah without much complexity. It does not have any flaws per se and it is easy to drink without contemplation. However, it does not provide a lot of pleasure as it is too simple and fruit forward.

Awesome, drinking really well even now. Certainly some reduction at first but I didn’t find overwhelming on the nose - balanced together with very savory, salty, briny notes and black fruits. Elegant, medium+ body and well integrated tannins. Impactful, lingering finish.
