ESTG does German Riesling (Seattle, WA, USA) : AP# 28 03. Quite salty, and I really liked it despite the fact that it was much richer than the 1997. But it was very divisive among with the group with people either loving or hating it. On day 2 it really rounded into form and gained nice depth while getting leaner and more mineral.

Relatively simple, I had hoped for a bit more. Apricots and dried apples with a little white flower and a hint of saltiness, nice lingering finish. Relatively light bodied. Medium plus acid but maybe not quite enough. Quaffable and has the aroma of a sun kissed fishing village.

Das war ein großartiger Wein. Der Korken löste sich allmählich leider in die Bestandteile auf. Wir mussten den Wein filtern. Im Glas war er dann super frisch und klar. Schönes Süß-/Säure Spiel am Gaumen.

Broad array of fresh fruit aromas and flavors, plenty of peach, key lime, and baked apple. Faint sweetness remains with good energy. Good enough weight, better length.

The cork on this bottle was better than the last. The wine had a fair amount of fine sediment but was delicious to drink and had a nice light gold color. This vintage will probably last longer, but I see no reason to hold further.

-- uncorked approx. 45 min. before initial taste -- -- tasted non-blind over 2.5 hrs. -- -- AP #: ... 36 03 -- NOSE: medium petrol, with a fresh/petrichor presentation; moderately austere: lightly baked carrots and mature gooseberry; powdered sugar. BODY: medium maize color; full bodied; surprised to see a tiny touch of spritz still hanging around. TASTE: zesty, despite acidity that is perhaps just "medium"; a bit honeyed; orange blossom and honeysuckle; light, deeply-embedded cherry note; 7.5% alc. not …

Fresh as a daisy and flawless. Pale yellow in the glass—looks like a brand new wine—with expressive aromatics, this is light and delicate on the palate with only subtle sweetness and intense minerals. Perfectly balanced and just approaching its peak. Not a blockbuster like the 01 but dare I say this might be just as good for what it is.

Prüm's 2002 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Spätlese is just starting to open up and is very enjoyable today with an hour or two of air. Very fresh and fruit forward with an abundance of white peach, raspberry candy, roses, lime, roasted thyme, whipped cream and green apple. Pure and delicate, exceptional balance. Now - 2035

Tuesday Night at WWS (Willamette Wine Storage, Portland OR) : The nose is deft and fragrant with balanced tones of peaches, red apples, quince, caramel, pears, yellow flowers, nectarines, and some mineral tones. The nose shows off some good primary fruits along with excellent development and maturity. The Light bodied feel is silky and with some nice weight along with crisp, high acidity that is showing off good integration. This is right in that good spot between maturity and primary …

Very nice integration of sweetness for this Riesling - full golden colored. Nice ripe tropical fruits, with still elegant acidity that frames this wine all the way through. I liked this a lot

Thai and Riesling Night : [Thai and Riesling Night - Nine Rieslings] Much more oxidative and advanced than the 2005 Prum. Also more advanced than my first bottle. Matches my old notes to a degree, but this died after a hour of opening. Chalking it up to bottle variation here.

[First of 12 bottles, bottle with past seepage] An aged JJ Prum is one of the most magical wines you can have! While young, JJ Prum can often come off as too sweet, too simple (fruity), and sometimes too predictable. With age, the integration of the sweetness and the fruit really transforms the wine into something absolutely heavenly. On the nose, toasted coconut, coconut water, honey sweetened herbal tea, ripe peaches and almost fermenting pineapple. Pronounced intensity, ripe stone fruit …

Upon removal of the foil, the cork stemmed to be in a poor state. Thankfully it was just the top, and the wine was in great condition. Papaya, mango, wet slate and moderate petro on the nose. 20 years of age and yet so vibrant with fruit. Well balanced and nice Wehlener Sonnenuhr. Would not keep remaining bottles longer. Would have hoped for a longer finish.

The cork was in poor shape with leakage into the capsule. But the wine was delicious. Given the age and state of the cork, my recommendation is to drink soon.

Beautifully balanced Riesling with a tinge of sweetness and really bright. An outstanding Kabinett at a terrific point in its evolution that paired with a slew of tough dishes. Even the spicy ones were managed with aplomb.

PnP. To my palate, this is not only in a perfect place, it's in an exciting place. Loads of dry extract, with perfectly mature aromas and flavors, and also the vitality of plenty of fresh, clean acidity to balance everything out. Long finish. Strike that. LONG finish. Brilliant. recommended

Rocking bottle of Prum right from the get-go. To judge from the pale color alone you'd figure this was a new release. But it's moving nicely along its curve and has now reached the point where it tastes functionally dry despite carrying what must surely be an ample amount of RS. The fruit is all racy green apples. End result is textbook Mosel riesling with a rapier-like cut. I didn't notice until after getting this note down that I have …

Wow, wow, wow, this is drinking stunningly well! Light diesel and honey with a whiff of sea air. The palate is just loaded with salty slate, white peach and lime zest. This has so much energy and is so refreshing. Kabinett verve and just perfect acidity. They are still young but really entering a nice window right now. Thank goodness for my Coravin, or this whole bottle would have disappeared in 10 minutes.

Thematic Thanksgiving (Los Gatos, California) : Medium yellow. More secondary petrol scents than the Kabinett, but similar apple tones. Not sweeter than the lower Pradikat wine but broader and creamier. This bottle actually seemed closer to full maturity but retains fresh acidity too.

I was hoping for a bit more from this bottle. My wife brought it to a neighborhood poker game and by the time I got there it had warmed up a bit (probably around 60) but was still unopened. I opened it so I got to see it from the start. It didn't move a whole lot over 3 hours. Very good. Reasonably thick and oily with ripe tropical aromatics- apricot and very ripe peach. There is a slight effervescence that is obvious as it settled into the decanter. Color in the glass is a pale to medium straw/yellow. It smells very fresh, clean and crisp with classic petrol, white peach and apple. It tastes of juicy ripe peach, apple, white pepper and a little petrol/resin. It gives the impression of sweetness, but it not sweet. The flavors are weighty but the wine is light and crisp. This is a very nice wine for Christmas …

Had a lot of trouble with the cork. It broke up and eventually just poured through a small whole in the cork then through a filter. The nose was lovely; citrus, honey and flower notes. Rich with layers of pair & to a lesser extant stone fruit layered with honey. Although it was there if you looked for it, the petrol flavor was very subtle actually helping the overall taste. I don’t see this getting better but it was pretty …

The nose on this is quite fragrant, on the palate this has the bright acidity and lemon oil/zest flavors, minerals and finishes with a hint of sweetness. The jury is still out for me on Reisling generally as that hint of sweet is not something I really enjoy - I clearly need to do more exploration to better understand these wines.

Bought on release, stored cold. No ullage. Solid cork. Pale gold color. Delicate fragrance of peaches and lemon. Barely perceptible effervescence. Medium bodied, still lively, good balance of sweetness and acid. No hint of decline but seems to be defying gravity at 15 years of age. A very impressive and enjoyable mature Kaninett.

Had a problem with the cork breaking and this bottle, while still very good, wasn't quite as good as previous bottles. The fruits were a little muted and there was a little something distracting. Beautiful golden color. It is like biting into a ripe peach dipped in honey with citrus in the background. Acidity is perfect keeping everything fresh even at 11 years. Perfectly complimented some delicious Thai food, both enhanced by the other. I have had two bottles over the last several years and it just keeps getting better.
