Clos d'Opleeuw Chardonnay

Medium+ intensity on the nose with oak, dried apple, butter, caramel, butterscotch. High acidity, medium+ finish. Not too impressed, already past its peak

A private lunch (Restaurant The Lobby Fizeaustraat, Hotel V, Amsterdam, NL) : Pale golden colour; pure and expressive nose, not very complex but with lovely Chardonnay expression and a pleasant touch of low-toast oak; well-proportioned palate, with ripe, even succulent fruit, supported by warmth from the wood and balanced by refreshing acidity; complete finish, good length. Well-made wine, very attractive but without the complexity and depth for a higher score.
