Two hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Korean plum, cassis, chocolate, and subtle pepper and bay leaf. Smooth, dry palate, with dusty acidity. Firm, lower intensity tannins on the longish finish. This was a real eye opener. My first ever Corliss (I think) and it has aged beautifully. Still drinking in prime time. 3daywinereview supplied this at an afternoon wine event at his house on the 4th. MN Wine Junkie and others were in attendance. Super fun afternoon with a …

4th of July Stellar Wines (My House) : Had this in 2024 at Celebrate Walla Walla and loved it then and even better with a solid decant. A rich wine with cherry, plum, dark chocolate, wood, spice, coffee beans and some pepper. Medium plus finish. Drink now to 2032. 94.5 points

At JaKs Issaquah to celebrate Katie's L and my LV bdays. Unfortunately for the food, the wine outclassed their 'finest' filets. Though I did expect a smidge more from the juice given the tariff, it was pleasantly enjoyable. Crazy Aside: Vinous has this scored a Tanzer 97 and (5 years later) a Guido 89: Wuut?!?

Very sophisticated, fine light sediment. Soft and balanced mouth with persistent backbone for pairing with filet mignon. Good for years to come.

Cherry and plum controlled and rich, cigar box, leather, iron, just-right dusty tannins, full acidity still. Very good but will reach its potential in a few years when the acidity calms down. Can drink now if decanted for a few hours.

PnP. 10 minutes in the glass and it was fully open. Loads of overripe black fruits, with some red fruits in the background. Faint layer of Eucalyptus mint with some dried underbrush, cassis, cedar and sweet Oak. A teaspoon of heavy sediment at end of bottle. Clearly in final year or two and the wine got a touch thinner after 90 minutes. Drink up and enjoy what is left of the best vintages from this producer.

Opaque cherry red color. Lovely aroma of dark raspberry. Intense, sweet and lush on the palate. Cherries, tobacco, licorice, blackberries. Gorgeous. Beautifully resolved tannins, lovely acidity, wonderful balance. Finishes long and sweet with blackberries and tobacco notes. Lovely cabernet and at peak. Should hold here for a few years. Drink next 5 years to catch the peak. Double-decanted just before service but, based on several prior bottles, I'm not sure it needed it.

Quick double decant back into bottle. Very little sediment. Unsealed a few hours later, and it need some more air time in the glass before fully coming around. Blackberries, black cherries - very ripe and lush. Touch of Eucalyptus and after some more air, more red fruits, and mocha. Smooth but tannins still long, thick and pliable. 20 second finish. Very well balance.

Lots of structure in this…hunk. Big, lively flavors of dark berries, leather, ferrous minerals and tea leaves. Firm tannins are still present, carrying into the really long finish. First of three. Lots of life and evolution left.

Echo others on this wine. It’s big, well structured, and remarkably high-toned given the depth of ripe fruit. The length is quite long; over 45 seconds, with black currant and sassafras/licorice notes predominating. The tannins are well integrated but some more time in the bottle will round them out, adding even greater pleasure to this hedonistic Washington Cab. I will wait another two years before pulling the cork on my next bottle. A beautiful wine.

Dark red color, 1cm transitional edge. Decanted half the bottle, and left half in bottle. Drank a couple glasses over 3 hours. Nice nose with black and blue fruits, boysenberry, cassis, subtle menthol, spice and pepper, fine pipe tobacco. The palate shows black cherry, cassis, tobacco, huckleberry, wood spice, moderate tannins and a big peppery burst as this sits. I preferred this fresh out of the bottle. There's more life here, but it is past its zenith.

About five years since my last bottle, and it has opened up a bit, but is still quite youthful. Good dark color. Nose of dark fruits. Long finish. Should probably wait another five before opening my last bottle, but not sure I will make it that long.

This is not a wine for flavor sissies. It is big, it is bold and it is not going to be ignored. It starts with a floral nose, unexpected since the flavors are not any where that subtle. The taste is very big , full purple fruit, medium tannins, leather with a long full dry finish. 56 th anniversary and the wine certainly does not disappoint.

Dark and lovely purple-red with slight fading at the rim. Plums and herbs on the nose. Plush on the palate, but evident structure. Plums, blackberries, cedar, bit of tobacco. Smooth on the mid-palate with chocolate notes. Soft but structured tannins. Gorgeous acidity and balance. Finishes long and subtle with dark fruits and licorice. Beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink next 6 to 8 years.

PnP and drank over several hours (after straining out all the soft cork pieces - an ah-so was not even able to hold the cork together). Same notes as over a year ago: Overripe blackberry and black cherry fruits that gave way to slightly tangy red fruits that really showed at mid palate and finish despite only 6% Cab Franc, and which made this a much more interesting wine than it would have otherwise been. Smooth with 30 second finish. …

Fabulous nose to start: blackberry leaves, brown sugar and a whiff of menthol. In the mouth, the berries explode, nicely in balance with acids and ultra smooth, but slightly drying tannins. It’s not rich, rather invigorating. The finish is salvia inducing, seemingly forever. Fresh enough after 13 years to indicate plenty of life left. Unfortunately, this is our last.

Sweet tannins, lively acidity, great balance. Finishes long and gradual. Great Cab. Should drink well for another 8 to 9 years.

Dark cherry red edge to edge. Aromas of dark cherry and chocolate. Lush, but firmly detailed on the palate, black cherries, tobacco, blackberries, a lovely smoky note. An anise note comes in on the mid-palate. Fine tannins, beautiful acidity, great balance. Finishes long with red fruits. Classic Cab. I'll drink these over the next 5-years but it will probably last longer.

Opaque red. Red fruits on the fragrant nose. Smooth on the palate, anise, black cherries, blackberry, cedar. Lusher on the mid-palate with bright berry notes. Firm, polished tannins, bright acidity, great balance. Finishes long, long with dark fruits and anise. Beautiful cabernet with a long life ahead of it as well as additional development. Drink next 10 years+. Unlike my last two bottles I felt this might have benefitted from a short decant.

Structurally this wine was acceptable, but much too young. I was anxious to try it and regret my decision. Overall, just much too young. It has hints of the powerhouse that it will become, but it needs another 5 years at a minimum for the subtleties to iron out and the tannins to soften.

Bright red with slight fading at the rim. Blackberry, currant, cedar box on the nose. Lush fruit (not flabby or soft) on the palate. Blackberry, cherry, tobacco, chocolate. No noticeable oak. Sweet red fruits on the mid-palate. bright acidity, fine tannins, great balance. Finishes very long with dark fruits. Classic cab. Not overly extracted or oak influenced. Drinks great now with just a bit of air and should continue to drink well for 8 to 10 more years.

No formal tasting notes, but for me was somewhere between Caymus Special Selection (dusty, creamy, chocolate, lush dark fruits) and Opus One (peppery) in terms of style. Really, really liked the wine especially at a "value" price of $95 versus Napa cabs with a much higher price tag. Next time I'll have a steak and give it a few hours before drinking, but it was pretty approachable without.

What a great bottle of wine. Opaque purple-red color. The almost creamy nose shows blackberry and cherry. Beautifully textured fruit on the palate, black cherries, tobacco, blackberry, anise. Fine, firm tannins, great acidity, fabulous balance. Semi-sweet chocolate on the mid-palate. Finishes long and subtle and dark fruited. An elegant, lovely, bright example of Cabernet Sauvignon. No need to wait on this wine and it should be outstanding for another 10 years.

Opened two bottles and both corks disintegrated during the process despite great care. Each needed to be decanted anyway to filter the sediment. These really need to warm up and get some air as they improve vastly over a couple hours. As previously noted by others, the nose is muted but the palate is wonderful.

The cork broke upon extraction and decanted the wine using a vinturi. We then let it sit for two hours and slowling drank it over the next theee. We had this with grilled Ribeyes on 9/1/17. The cork crumbled when I attempted to pull it, but the wine had no issues. It had a ripe, elegant, slightly reticent bouquet of black currant, blackberry, mocha, cocoa, toast and spice aromas.
