Not much to this wine, very weak and flat from the palate to finish. Consistent with my previous tastings. Drink every bottle that you have left in your cellars without delay.

It is now 2023. Still disappointed. Some cherry fruit and mild bright acidity, but it mostly falls flat. I don't know that any further time in the bottle will be beneficial.

Drinking beautifully right now. the nose is a bit understated but has lots of cherry with some rock/loam notes. In the mouth, the cherry explodes. This is still one of my favorite wines - I could drink it every day. It has at least 4 more years left, in my opinion.

Another tasting July 2021. Better than my previous tasting notes which did not impress me at all. Dave isn't as pessimistic as me (but why should he be). If my remaining bottles are like my current tasting this could go another 5 years (I nudged my drinking window out a bit). You be the judge.

I have opened bottles in 2019, 2020, and 2021. My private notes are all very consistent. Typical 777 nose. Very light fruit, not much on the mid palate but with good acid. Doesn't seem age-worthy, very unusual for the 777. Disappointed. Drink by 2023.

The nicest nose of all the Pinots on the tasting flight at the winery today. Bright red cherry raspberry with an overtone of mocha and a little bit of classic Pinot funk. Unfortunately as it opens up it develops a soapy note. Like the others, a little flimsy in structure, but it does have a nice long cherry fruit finish with a shake of baking spices. Overall, a drinkable Pinot but not for the price.

This wine seems to be losing its mojo. Sulfur and disjointed fruit on the nose. The sulfur blew off slowly and the wine came together as it gained air. Very ripe plum fruit backed up by some tannin. But as time progressed, the fruit went rather over the hill and turned somewhat raisiny. Drink up.

Clear, ruby fading to a pink meniscus. Bright cranberry and pomegranate on the nose. Black tea. Med plus acidity. Surprising tannins present. Same fruit up front and damp earth through the midpalate with balance. Tannins finish strong, but smooth. Very balanced. Finish is long (10sec+). Alcohol is well integrated. I believe this has another 5+yrs.

Sometimes AB wines have a squeaky-clean character, and this one definitely did. The nose is reminiscent of plum and raspberry, but also a whiff of fresh tap water. Mineral or chemical additive, I'm not sure. Not a bad thing, but distinctive to AB's pinots. On the palate, ripe and concentrated, primary flavors of plum and ripe dark cherry dominate. Wife thought raisiny and overripe.

This needs some breathing time. Decanted 1 hour and consumed over 7 hours. Very closed up until hour 4, then began to show signs of the interesting wine that I remember purchasing over a year ago. Hour 5 -7 seemed to be the sweet spot. Even thought the nose concentration was only average+, the solid cherry foundation with the secondary sweet vanilla and distant mineral elements that showed up later in the evening, helped bring this up from a mid-80 …

A lot of cherry on the nose. A very dense pinot. Dark in color and cherry with tons of earthy tones going on in the nose. Not your light and fruity pinot if that is what you are looking for. An interesting wine. I think this wine might use a little more bottle age to tame/integrate some fruit with the dirt. Will check back on this in a year.

Short note: this is quite nice but not up to the quality of the Bergström and Penner-Ash and perhaps a step below the cheaper Lemelson and Bethel Heights. Still a very nice wine in tough company. B with a bit of an upside.
