Served blind. Plums, raisins, walnuts, figs with more of the same in the mouth. Tangy, textured, rich and generous with a little aniseed and boiled sweets on the finish, sweet, alcohol present but well managed. Touches of leather here as well. I went with a Late 80's Rutherglen Port

Holding up very well. Slight bricking round the edges but still a deep colour. On the first day there was quite a lot of menthol on the nose, even after an 8 hr decant, but after a day spent in an open decanter that had mostly dissipated. On the palate is pretty delicious and better on day 2. Sweet with some black tea and raspberry coming through. The tannin is fine but persistent and there is a savoury element, I'm …

This certainly needed decanter time and was better on the second day after being left in an open decanter overnight. Raspberry jam and Licorice were strong flavours coming through on both days along with a hint of mint. The casia notes on day one had changed to a less earthy and more refined cinnamon on day 2. The time in the decanter has made it more elegant. It still looks young with the colour still a deep dark purple that …

This took a while to unravel and was better after a second day in the decanter. Tastes of earthy sweet spice with raspberry and red cherry. There is a line of acidity that runs through this while the tannin is pretty restrained. I'm not in a hurry to drink the rest of these I own, but it probably won't improve a great deal from here either.

THis took a few hours to open up. Plenty of spice - cinnamon, pepper hints of mint and anise. At 21 this has a fair amount of life left in it. There is some raspberry jam and spice on the palate but with an underlying greeness that takes the edge off the sweetness. Tannins provide some serious length and keep everything balanced
