This wine is unique, in a good way. As a late harvest, I was expecting sweet, which it is, but that comes later after the spicy, slightly green and minerality that really works for me. This is a great wine to go with more savory desserts like pumpkin pie.

Petrol nose. Not complex. Flat.

Straw yellow with olive oil-like viscosity in the glass. Huge nose of hay, pepper and carmel with secondary stone fruit. Just as big on the palate with gobs of grass and hay, lychee, citrus, pepper and stone fruit. Brooding minerality and acidity keep it from being cloying. Medium finish. This one impresses me by its Sauternes meets whiskey sour combination. My friends hate it…go figure?

This wine has maybe the craziest Nose I’ve ever experienced in a wine: the Nose is pretty simple, but it displays loads of jalapeno and pepperocini — I mean this quite literally, stick your nose in the glass and you get a boatload of jalapeno. Full-bodied and viscous on the palate. This is sweet, with flavors …
