A momento from Sydney this year; vino guy raved about it, its a lovely Pinot Noir made in the velvety chocolate style with notes of rose, cherry and tar. Maybe due to its youth its all pleasing all singing and not at all exhibiting any tarty popocorn crust of aged old world pinots. Would cellar for 5 years.

Gourmet Traveller Wine Single Site Pinot Noir Tasting (8 Danks street, Sydney) : Aromas of red berries, slight stalks, slight leathery/earthy notes, slight mocha and toast notes. In the mouth the wine is juicy and fresh with red berry fruit, touches of spice then slightly stalky bitter drying tannins start to close things down. Quite Long. Hmm

Cellarhand Trade Day 2015 (Regent Theatre, Plaza Ballroom, Collins Street, Melbourne) : Very ripe fruited for a Tassie pinot. Lots of plum and blackcurrant, strawberry, earth, a bit of iodine and mushroomy characters too. A lot to give on the aromas. The palate is quite generous and long too, with a fruit-driven flourish on the finish. Pricey though...
