David Arthur Late Harvest Riesling

Only grabbed a small pour of this. For my tastes it was very standard dessert wine. Good and sweet and honey and all of that. On the heels of a really interesting Eden dessert cider and so it seemed a bit plain in comparison.

Smells and tastes a lot like cider - apples permeate throughout. This is very light and clear and clearly strongly acidic which I generally like in dessert wines. I would say this is actually a fine dessert wine if it was ~$20. For the ~$90 and given other products that you can get in that area (bad years of D'Yquem, 750s of most of the other Sauternes, ice wine, pretty good German BAs at least) I'm not convinced. On the …
