Opolo, Concerto, Paso Robles

This wine has laid down well, a great Bordeaux style blend with nice layers of ripe fruit and soft tannins and a nice hint of oak. What Opolo does best.

Opolo is a strange winery, opinions vary widely around the wines it produces, it's a winery nobody wants to like but nevertheless does. Opened the bottle and let sit for 90 minutes (pesky, unplanned Friday afternoon conference call), but still hyper-tannic in the first glass. Decanted and let sit for another hour, this wine was much calmer by this point. Grilled up a small filet with a little bleu cheese, and this wine was a good complement.

Mineral & leathery nose. Soft tannins with chocolate & dark cherries. Long & satisfying finish.

A great Bordeaux. Black cherry, cranberries and tea with soft tannins and a long satisfying finish. Fantastic with a veggie pizza. Shore man! I see your name on this!
