Daniel Gehrs Shiraz

Rich, alcoholic nose full of dark fruits, spice, and leather. Deep ruby in color, quite opaque, very dark. Rich, smooth mouth of blackberries, strawberries, plums, cloves, and leather. Such a lovely wine.

Rich texture and body; smoked fruit, oak; jammy.

Nose shows a lot of anise over some earthy tones and raisins - slight perfumed edge to it overall with some heat. Lightly charred dark fruits on the palate, nice mid-palate of smooth fruit, integrated (and plentiful) tannins, and a rather long finish. Opens up well after about an hour.
