Good intensity on the nose with green apple, ripe pear, lemon and orange zest then vanilla, biscuit, brioche and also yeasts, bread dough and a more "funzy" but subtle cheesy note. In the mouth is dry with high acidt, light bodied with a thin mousse, candied citrus fruits, annurca apple, bread crust, bread dough and yeasts. Medium finish.

Pre mid but fine for the price point

Cherry that verges on Maraschino (reflects the heavy Pinot in the cuvee; not offputting, but not my favorite flavor profile in champagne), chalk, apple.

Very nice but not sure how old this bottle actually was since I bought it at a small liquor store in my home town that doesn't particularly specialize in wine. Among the Champagnes on the shelf, this was the least expensive. Light golden color. Appropriate nose and flavors of bread and lees with just a hint of oxidation. Bubbles a bit larger than I had expected. Quite soft but overall a crowd pleaser!

Honey, lemon, pastry Some richness on the midpalate but drier on the finish. Very fine, admittedly one of my favorite grand marque NVs.

Champagne should be toasty, nutty, and balanced with charm, and attain acidity, and have depth....and, and, and.... never runs out. Drink Champagne from Magnums...The END.

Day 1: One of the better NVs. Spice, lemon, pie crust, lime, chalk and floral notes. Vibrant and nice acidity. Solid sub 50 bottle of champs. Crisp, tart, and notes of red fruits. Will keep one in my cellar at all times

Bright acidity with toasted strawberry, raspberry, cherry, and tart stone fruit. The nose is subtle and yeasty, but the palate is bold fruit and a great compliment to any number of foods.

Wow. I had bought this magnum at an auction for just spare change. Had the feeling it was about 20 years old, but my son discovered moments before opening it was 35 years old. Well not many better for the price. $45 at a local shop today and yes please. Dough, floral, spices, pear, apples, minerals and strawberries. This is really well made and delivers. Not many at that price better.

NV Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Cuvée Brut ($40 at wine event). Light straw gold; stone fruit, lime, light yeast nose; mid acids; mid depth; semi-long, crisp yeasty finish. 16/90.

Store tasting. Don't think I've ever had this big brand before. 50% PN, 30% Meunier, 20% Chardonnay, at least 30% reserve wines, 8g/L dosage. Quite earthy, toasty/leesy, somewhat muscular. Definitely shows the character of the aged wines included in the blend. For those that want more than just fruit and bubbles in their Champagne. I appreciated it, but would have preferred maybe a little more fruit and freshness?

Good again. Perhaps a bit more dry than previous bottles.

Beautiful color. Red fruits with a clean, dry, medium(+) finish. Perfect pairing with waffles w/butter and maple syrup and turkey sausage.

70/39 C/PN, 12 g/l dosage, disgorged late 90s, blocked malo. Dull gold colour. Fully mature and starting to oxidise/torrefy. Sour, overripe roasted pineapple. Honestly, they shouldn’t have served this bottle!

Tasted at Le Grand Tasting Paris. It's a masterclass and the wine was from the producer, so I assume the storage was perfect. However, this bottle was not that impressive. There was no fault, just there was also not much life in it. There were bubbles (not much), the colour was reasonable for this age, while it was just lacking energy and vibe. Piper Heidsieck Rare Tasting (La Fete) : Information from merchant, 75% C, 25% PN, 9.5g/l, from a magnum, lovely freshness despite the age, aggressive moose, dense good weight, orange peel, citrus, structured finish, lots going on in the palate adding to the complexity. Lovely

I was surprised at how sweet this tasted and felt. Mind you this is by no means cloying. Lots of orchard fruit, some bread notes. Nice lingering finish.

No information on the label, but from the producer's website this is 50-60% pinot noir of which 15-20% is vinified as red wine, 20-25% pinot meunier, 20-25% chardonnay. 25% from reserve wines. Minimum of 24 months on lees. Dosage 8-9g/l. Much deeper in colour than many rosés - essentially pale red. The mousse is very short-lived, but there's a nice non-agressive fizz on the palate.
