Diez-Caballero Rioja Reserva

Not as good as the first bottle, dark red no real opaqueness, flat on the nose and dull in the mouth and it did have a decent time open, not sure if this is all bottle variation as someone else suggested or simply not very good, I go with the later from my experiences with it.

Good everyday drinking Rioja, needs a bit of air probably more than I gave it as it was still improving. As a crianza can't see any more time in cellar is going to improve it, drink up.

Meh. Completely underwhelmed, even for $14 from WTSO. Almost no fruit; a blanket of thick, heavy tannins across my tongue; moderate minus complexity and finish (and that's being kind). Might improve with a year or more of bottle age, but I wouldn't bet on it. Unless this bottle was somehow off, the Lopez de Haro Reserva is a much better wine for about the same price. Good. Just a darn good drinking Rioja, especially for the price.

Very solid. Good QPR at $14.00. Will buy again
