Still great, exactly a year after my last bottle. Interesting oakiness.

Dark purple, great nose, smooth palate with plenty of tannins waiting in the wing. Still fresh; I would have believed this was the latest release at the tasting room...That's a muscle man.

Still incredibly youthful. Dark purple color with juicy black cherry and blackberry fruit, graphite and rich earth. Typical Petite Sirah with an impenetrable black color, loads of tannins, and a fairly simple palate of flavors. The alcohol here is a bit too much, but the wine is quite attractive for its juicy flavors.

Age has been very good for this wine. Enjoyed very much. Very dark and full bodied. The overwhelming fruit has mellowed but still remains lush and fresh. Long finish.

Drinking very well with a decant. Quite ripe and young. The nose does it no favors as is high octane. Color is dense ink. The wine is very smooth and integrated, full bodied without a doubt, but very enjoyable dark purple and blue fruits that pairs well with fatty meat - or could stand on its own. Big finish. Excepting the nose, competes well with the big Cali cabs over the past decade or so.

No formal notes, as this was a magnum opened at a large offline. As expected, the wine was pretty big and bold, and still holding lots of tannin structure. In this format, I could see this wine aging a very long time further.

Aerated into decanter a few times, then sat in decanter for 1 hour, drank over 4 hours. Raspberry, hint of cola, blue & black berries. Dense, mouth coating smooth tannins, fruit more prominent in this bottle. Still has time.

Oh boy! This is a delicious, strong, inky, powerful, full bodied wine. Young? Yes, but oh so delicious. Drinking beautifully. Drink or hold. Drank with kenv in Albany. Dinner was rack of lamb. I owned this wine almost 10 years to the day.

Tasty black berry, cassis, and chocolate on the nose and brooding palate with resolving tannins on the moderate finish

P&p, drank over 1.5 hours. Earthy at first, then soft fruit emerged. Smooth, rich and enjoyable. Drink sooner than later. I don't see this lasting until '25 (CT) or '33 (WA).

Lovely and vibrant at this age. I agree with the group that preferred Foley Petite Sirah when they blended the two!

Drinking well now, but likely to continue to improve and drink well for another ten years! Feel like Bob actually did better with his blended PS, as opposed to the one or so years he tried to do single vineyard. But, experimentation is always a good thing creatively!

Really lovely. My girlfriend, who hasn't heard rhapsodies about how petite sirah is supposed to look, noted how satisfyingly dark the color is. Off balance for the first couple of minutes, then rapidly gained coherence and then, holy cow, what length and tannins! It has some nice, surprisingly spicy notes but otherwise it's exactly what I want in a PS -- powerful without being too over the top. Really nice.

The pinnacle of Petite Sirah. Inky, chewy, assertive, and grippy. After an hour of decanting, it was lush and velvety, with a beautifully retained structure and all the sexy and unctuous fruit expected of this varietal.

I am a big fan of these Foley PS wines. This was the one vintage where they separated the blend into its two components. Nice wines, and educational, but I ultimately enjoy the complexity of the blend.

From Magnum. I tend to find PS too big, but this was an absolute incredible expression of the grape. Full of fruit and surprisingly well balanced. Excellent.

PnP with tightly coiled but layered notes of electric and lively purple, black, and ripe red berries, blackberry, dark plum, dark raspberry, asphalt, charcoal, and cool, wet granite. Some nuances of earth and spice, but more dominant with the purple fruits, stone, and asphalt/tar notes. Just what I want from a Petite Sirah. Bob Foley does it right with his own namesake label as well as with Switchback Ridge Petites. As noted by others, the Muscleman is still a baby …

Browns suck, wine don't (part - I have lost track); 10/3/2015-10/5/2015 (My home) : This was the vintage Robert Foley made two different Petit's IIRC. This was the brawnier of the two. After 9 years, it is still young. No hurry at all. While it drinks well, I think it may still improve a bit. Purple in color. The nose is charcoal, black raspberries, plums and a slight coffee note. Full bodied. On the palate, there is a nice juiciness …

People often ask me, “What is your favorite varietal?” My answer is, “Petite Sirah.” Then, they look at me curiously thinking he likes a delicate, light bodied wine. Petite means small… right? Yes, the grape is small (petite), but that is where petite aspect ends. Robert Foley’s iteration is anything but small. Let’s see…what words come to mind? Big, massive, monster, beast…yes, fasten your seat belts. This petite is not for the faint hearted. Deep and rich dark fruit, huge …

Decanted for three hours. Final wine at a wine event with friends. Massive and potent. Big hit with our group. This wine is very structured, with the tannins still quite prevalent. Probably opened this a little early, but sometimes I enjoy them a little less integrated. Wish I had more.

Opaque red, pink halo, intense, deep, spicy, woody, complex, beautiful nose. Full body, high alcohol but well contained by overall structure, tannins surprizingly soft although plenty left to allow many years more of aging, causing texture to be not as silky as one day it will certainly be. Lots of fruit but not cloying due to the superb structure underlying it, blackcurrant, concord grapes, raisins, prunes preserved in liqueur, tropical fruits (jamelão), etc. Finish is still somewhat rough, but with some …

Popped & decanter for 1.5 hours which wasn't near enough time. The nose was beautiful black fruits whiule the palate was hiding! I got cedar and a little more cedar under overtones of cedar. Let the rest sit for another year and see what I've got.
