Dense, inky, red blood colour. Attractive nose of musk, pencil and a bit of leather. Rounded mouthfeel - flavours of musk, menthol, cranberry and graphite. Medium to long finish. Drinking really well. Beautiful bottle.

Opens up well after a couple of hours in the bottle, typical cabernet notes of dark berry, cassis, cedar and pencil lead on the nose, balanced, with restrained weightiness and smooth mouthfeel, tense tannin, dark flavors of berry, mint, tobacco, gravel and anise, Margaux vibes, pleasant match with rib-eye steak, lots of cellar potential

Opened, decanted and drank over eight hours. Ox-blood in color, full bodied. Classic cab nose. Pencil shavings, some dark fruit, leather hints, and a touch of black licorice. Soft, smooth, well balanced. Longish finish. Tastes like the nose. WOW! This wine punches way above its weight class. Great QPR. Drinking perfectly now. Case worthy. Smoked a Drew Estate Liga No. 9

Serious wine - it just needs time to really flower out and show its potential. Right now it is approachable but there is a lot of material that is packed down in there. Black fruit punched through with nice green notes of cabernet that snap the wine into a more upright position; then a wave of aniseed and violet. The temptations with these SA wines is to drink them too young; they really do need to be treated with the …

Great nose - classic cab herbal nuances but the pinnacle of perfect ripeness; silky entry, very finely managed tannins. Great flavour, lovely richness. Cool and fresh but not green at all. Excellent.

Very green nose with strong herbal elements on first pour. It opened up a little over the course of 30 minutes of swirling in the glass but the nose continued to show green. Palate had some decent interest and complexity and was a decently well made wine. I found the greenness a little off putting. Would not buy.

Boekenhoutskloof Winemakers dinner. (@ Bottles; Sas van Gent, Netherlands) : Classical bouquet with dark berries, cassis and a pleasant touch of sweetness. Same on the palate, good acidity and beautifully soft tannin as well as a pleasant touch of oak.

Outstanding beautiful nose with blackberry Notes. The palate has a lovely balance - there is lots of structure behind ths to ensure no flabbiness but overall it is supple and lithe. A joy to have a 5* wine when it's latest incarnation received a similar accolade
