Poonawatta Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Wayne's Block

Tasted during a South Australia vineyard safari. Medium purple. Reductive nose of dark fruit with some vanilla and a little toast. On the palate this is unusual airy and fresh/light for a Cabernet. Blind I could well be guessing Zweigelt/St.Laurent/Refosco here. Not bad in its own right but with little typicity. I guess they went light on all the parameters oak, tannins, extraction. The result is a very fruit friendly CabSav.
