Cork crumbled, appeared to be good seal. I posted the pic of sediment after straining the cork through cheesecloth. There was quite a bit of sediment which looked promising. No brownish rim, garnet colored wine on the decant. There is an unusual smell on the nose. So I tried the saran wrap (can be any cling wrap) application to bind any 2,4,6-trichloroanisole (TCA) molecules. It seemed to help some but alas the wine, while now drinkable, is past it's prime. …

Brought to dinner by a friend. Decanted for 1 hours and served near cellar temperature. Dark purple color and throwing lots of sediment. Didn't take notes so from memory. Tobacco, blackberry, plum, charcoal on nose. On palate, dried fig, plum, blackberry with medium+ body, high acidity, strong tannins (well integrated) and very long finish. Reminds me of a Pintia by Vega Sicilia (from Toro). Really enjoyed this and it blew away a '06 Barbaresco that we were drinking alongside (Produttori). …
