J+FNJ. Roast lamb. Some rough tannin fading after decanting. A great example of what Hermitage should be. Not subtle, muscular fruit.

Northern Rhone (Wildwood Restaurant (Portland, OR)) : Menthol and light fruit on the nose. Nice resolved fruit on the palate, and showing that this is drinking just fine today. A bit of funk on the finish, with some tannins, but the fruit isn't really holding up to the rest of it... this is tasting a bit over the hill today. Just not enough of its components are coming together. Disappointing, though this flight had some pretty damn stiff company.
