Trio Infernal Priorat Riu

14.5% alcohol. Long cork of good density with no wine penetration. Grenache 50%, Syrah and Mourvèdre making the balance (I do not know the proportions). Deep colour. Fresh, wears its alcohol (14.5%) lightly. A little furry tannin reminds of its place. Enjoyable and dangerously drinkable. Great value.

Interesting nose, reductive, nice, fish, relatively very light on its feet. Syrah! BBR tasting.

BBR Rioja & Catalonia (One Great George Street, London) : Syrah. Nuanced and complex nose. Typically full and a little dry on the finish. ***

verre de 14cl au 110 taillevent - nez cacaoté, cerise confite, boisé, bouche riche, tanins assez doux mais très présents, sympa.

A tour of Spain (Berry Bros, London) : Red tending to black fruit. Biscuit and, almost, oats (?) mineral notes and touches of sulphur. Very savoury nose. And smells - if this is possible - dense. In the mouth there wine has high tannin - very grippy and tough - and has flavours of savoury, meaty, dark fruit and leather notes that carry on the long finish. Interesting and a bit of a beast.

Un vin bien fruité, légèrement épicé, à la charge alcoolique raisonnable. Il est jeune bien entendu mais il est bien équilibré et fait son office à table, avec du petit gibier ou de la saucisse grillée par exemple.
