100% Zweigelt from Leithaberg. The wine is named after Hans Schwarz, who used to work as a butcher before devoting himself to viticulture and making wines. 15% alcohol. Tasted blind. Luminous and moderately evolved, medium-deep amber-ish-orange color. The nose feels rich, ripe and quite sweet with evolved, complex and slightly over-the-top aromas of caramel, some apple jam, light raisiny notes of Sultanas, a little bit of bruised apple, a hint of cooked rise hips and a touch of rowanberry jam. …

Strawberry aromas and flavors with a good balance start-to-finish with very impressive intensity for a Rose of this age, while still light and fresh. Is that the Zweigelt character?

Aromas and tastes of mid summer fruit - strawberry and raspberry. Nicely demi-sec, this worked very well with a fruit and cheese course after dinner. Light and nicely balanced, even if somewhat simple.
