Would say that vintage 2018 is in its proper drinking window. Nice harmony between structure and fruit, the acidity is there but is restrained. Clear elements of peach, stone fruit, pear and pineapple. Nice clunkability, and perfect for a shrimp sandwich. Drink or hold.

Lovely stuff, probably better a year or two ago, as age is starting to dull the fruit character which is necessary to balance the heavy oak imprint. Tasty and reliable, though, with citrus, orange leaf and plenty of vanilla, cream, pastry. The fruit is somewhat mulled by age, but still present.

Still hanging in if a bit past its prime--crisp golden apple bathed in lemon-lime.

Unfortunately last bottle was flawed. First bottle ok, but not worth The Price.

Almost would not consider this chardonnay, but is excellent in it's own right. Crisp, tart, not very sweet.

Opened for a virtual tasting with Frog's Leap, which is a great program they're running in these COVID times, and a lot of fun. Out of 375. I did not care for this at all, and wonder if perhaps it was flawed in some manner (premox?). I got uncooked dough and some apple on the palate, with a very unappealing aftertaste. Not rated.

So, the first two days this was open the wine came across very acidic and very rough around the edges. We were a little disappointed in truth. It was a little reduced, but not so much you would think the wine shut down. But, on the third day the wine transformed into something really nice, so clearly it needs a little more time in the bottle. When it finally opened up, it was reminiscent of 1er Cru Chablis. Surprised me with its large, aggressive profile. A rather pungent nose, perhaps elderflower and ripe melon. Big mouth presence with a grapefruit kind of mid-palate punch to it. This would match well with flavorful shellfish like lobster or shrimp. Might be worth holding 3-5 more years to see if it becomes more elegant.

Atkin Chardonnay Comparative tasting (Lismore) : (Tasted Blind): It is a mid-lemon colour. The aromas are unmistakable lemon with hints of liquorice, aniseed, and a touch of oak. The palate enters sweeter, more obvious and open-knit. Very approachable, the acidity has enough edge underneath to keep it moving, yet the wine doesn't feel completely integrated.

Tasting at Frog's Leap : Clear, light gold color. Youthful aromas of stone fruit, chalky minerality and wheat straw. High acid and lean in style, with nervy citrus and saline mineral notes, along with subtle notes of almond and earthy spice. Dry finish, medium length. Nicely done.
