(15/20) Texas Sangiovese, it's a regional style on Vivino, who would've expected? Nice wine though! Very balanced, elegant and refined. Medium intense aromas of red cherry, cranberry, strawberry, rose petal, toast, vanilla, tobacco, white pepper, liquorice wood, wet earth. Dry wine, high acidity, medium+ and fine-grained tannins, full body, medium+ flavour intensity, medium+ length finish. 13% ABV - RS tasting @ Robin

Pale color, nearly transparent. Not much on the nose. Palate shows some red fruit but poor balance. The acidity overpowers all else. Not at all a typical representative of Sangiovese, even for a Texas style.

Pale ruby/garnet, looks more like a Cerasuolo. Med intensity aromas of red cherry, pomegranate, black plum. Dry, with med to med (+) acidity, med alcohol (13%) and med, slightly astringent tannins. Med body, flavor intensity and length. Pleasant and refreshing, but not really representative of what Sangiovese is or should be. Poor QPR, considering that significantly better expressions shipped here from Tuscany retail for much less.

Retail $25. Another wine for which I had a bit of difficulty tracking down information. Like about 80% of the wine produced in Texas, the fruit for this wine came from the Texas High Plains even though the winery is in the Texas Hill Country, a good five-hour drive away.
