Was a bit odd in taste and balance. No discernible flaw in the wine, but didn't evolve as expected and tannins remain tight, while fruit is fading.

;-( Note consistent with that of 14-10-2023. Quella Bond at its best, nicely matured after 18 years but still plenty of power. Drinking now, a long future ahead... But who has the patience for that? ;-(

Lange afdronk. Algemeen / potentieel: 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma …

WIML94 Tasted non blind. Purple color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of tobacco, currants, rose petals and melted black licorice. Flavors of currants, dried plums, black licorice and black raspberries. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or can continue to hold.

Amazingly delicious. Great flavor. Incredible depth of flavor and balance. The perfect wine to pair with chocolate. Long finish. Takes awhile to open up but once it does wow.

Silky smooth. A voluptuous dense and dark cab. Good acidity in the background although it is well hidden by the fruit. This will undoubtedly be even better in 10 years.

On the nose: Blackcurrant, lead, bitter almond, mint was added after a while in the glas. On the palate: High intensive tannins, quite heavy wine with blackcurrant and cherry stones in a fine mix. Long finish

Exceptional wine, one of the best i have ever had! Needs an hour to decant. Lovely character and complexity with a wonderful nose. Ready to drink now, but will only get better with age.

Pure power with finesse and lots of complexity. This wine is wonderful. Deep dark inky look with loads of red fruit on the palate. Finish was ever so long and lasted well over 45 seconds. Wish I had more of this vintage and definitely one of the best BOND wines I have had. Pure nirvana drinking this wine.

Bouquet of red plum, cherry, leather, blue berry. Hint of tobacco. Palate was well balanced hit front , mid and back. Finish was very long and complexed. I still think Melberry 2006 was better but this is a fine wine.

Liquid black berries. Drank with an '04 Harlan, and the Quella surpassed it in complexity and elegance.

Blue fruit again with a plush ripeness. Again firm tannins with beautiful structure and depth. This is grown in volcanic ash and you can taste the minerality to it. The finish was amazing and lasted for over a minute and I had to drink water between the glasses to cleanse my palate and I really didn't want to do this because it was so good. The acidity was nicely integrated as well and this wine is perfect to decant and …

Charleston CA Cult Cab Tasting (Kings Courtyard) : Meaty raspberry, vanilla, florals, smooth tannins but showing a bit of heat on the finish. From magnum, so probably aging a bit slower than a normal bottle, and could use a bit more time.

Charleston II - The Collectibles - Afternoon Edition; 9/20/2013-9/21/2013 (Kings Courtyard Inn in Charleston, SC) : Wow - what a beautiful wine. I do believe it benefited from a double decant in the morning and ~3 hrs spent in decanter before being rebottled for the blind tasting. Just a really lovely mouthful - luscious plum, fig, smoke, leather. Nice and complex and just keeps bringing out new flavors as you move it around. Starts on the fruity side, but there's …

Winorama with a surprise (engagement)!; 9/15/2013-9/18/2013 (Napa Valley California) : Tasted at the Founder's Room. Going through my notes I see a lot of 'deep' and 'complex'. This wine was a maze to walk through over the course of the two hours and just kept changing. My initial reaction was a bit skeptical after the accessibility of the Melbury, but true to a Howell Mountain wine it took its time opening up and was worth the wait. Black currants, black …

My first experience with this wine from Bond delivered a powerful, tannic, full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon packed with coffee, blackberries and cocoa. Another year or two should add more softness and more complexity to the wine.
