From 75cl, good shrunken cork, P+P, improved until final drop. Ripe green apple? Hmm. Red apple? Yeast. Fresh brioche! Good body, healthy sweetness. Super-ripe lemon. Gorgeous caressing bubbles. Long finish with umami reflexes. Best with 1 hour air and at 12C. Entering maturity, no hurry. 92P

From MAG. This Champagne has really hit its stride. With a bit of air it is very complex and expressive, appropriately dry, layered aromas of citrus, herbs and earthy elements

Nice tiny bubbles. On the nose ripe apple, brioche and first oxidative nodes that were a bit disjointed at start but got better integrated with more air and gave it an interesting touch. On the palate quite creamy now with still good freshness, depth and length. Was a bit surprised about the development it did compared to the bottle we had 2 years ago, still very good and above its price level, but if this bottle is representative, I would …

Drinking better than some other 2002s lately, this was still feisty, if not especially fizzy. Solid, but not exceptional -- balanced, with just a hint of back-end bitterness. Still pale in color, these can go for a while yet

Chardonnay from Cuis (60%), Chouilly, Epernay and young vines from Cramant, dosage 3-5 g/l, 12.5% vol. Opened and enjoyed it together with a home made Quiche Lorraine. Starts with strong effervescence and mainly yeasty notes, gets more subtle after a while and showed fresh apples, a suggestion of lemon and a mineral touch, good acidity, medium body and good length with a hint of a lemony bitter note. Developed nicely within the last 2 years but still very youthful and …

Chalky mineral dominates first sips. Color is a greenish tinted gold and bubbles are lively, still youthful. With some air fruits come to the fore, pear, apple, a touch of citrus. Clean and precise, a dry style with good cut and energy. Enjoyable now and the best is yet to come.

Hade faktiskt högre förväntningar än vad denna flaska levererade. Hög syra och väldigt grön. Dov autolys, gav en hint av fänkål vilket kändes väldigt konstigt för mig. Kanske tunnel. Kommer inte öppna nästa flaska närmaste åren

From 75cl, youthful, fresh-looking still not compacted cork. For bottling details, see my CT TN of 15.09.2020. Entering maturity, this is bigger, richer, heavier and more open than it was then (duh...) V. interesting play between distinct apple acidity and something much more lactic, I mean unpasteurized cow-milk-like, in the most appetizing way. 91P tonight, potential for further development.

Noticeably different from the last tasting 18 months ago. Rounder, a whisper of autolytic character, while retaining freshness and acidity. There was a slight bitterness on the finish, but it went away with time in the glass. With air, and coming up from cellar temperature, this got more refined and interesting.

LV-13. Light olive with green-golden tinge, delicate bubbles. Nose slightly waxy, yeasty brioche, golden fruit. Palate wonderful depth and class. Golden fruit with a honeyed richness, some minerals but in a balanced way, nice depth and richness with a balancing brightness. Good value comparatively.

(Disgorged in 2020, 100% Chardonnay from Cuis, Chouilly, Epernay and young vines from Cramant) Incipient maturity on the nose showing yellow apples, minerals and a touch of ginger and opens up with freshly baked bread and some lovely butter notes. Very seductive. Already opened up in a very nice and pleasant way on the palate showing smoothing yellow apples with a round and soft creaminess before the lengthy and balanced finish showing lime juicy bitterness. This has opened up a …

Chardonnay from Cuis (60%), Chouilly, Epernay and young vines from Cramant, dosage 3-5 g/l. Fresh and yeasty, rather lean in this stage with mineral notes and medium to high acidity. A bit of waste to drink this so young, I will wait a couple of years for the next bottle, potential for 91-93.

Soft, supple but with underlying intensity. Color deceivingly light for its age but the ripe 2002 fruit is lush and elegant. Creamy and very well balanced so very easy to drink. Loved by all and bottles in this condition will easily go another decade.

(Disgorged in 2008, 100% Chardonnay) Lovely golden yellow colour with an endless stream of very fine bubbles and a maturing nose showing cream, butter caramel and some gentle flowers as well. Still showing a very nice acidity of yellow apples and a touch of burnt sugar before a very distinct plums peel bitterness on the lengthy finish that transforms into a pleasant creaminess. Wow! This is really showing very well right now, but should keep for many years to come! …

From 75cl, shrunken Champagne cork. This bottle not quite as stellar as the one noted on 08.05.2020, either that or two recent fabulous 94/95P whites have poshed up (or spoiled, as we used to say in my childhood) my palate. But all the descriptors (ripe green apple, ginger, vanilla) beautifully accurate. A wonderful Christmas Eve treat. 92P

Similar to previous bottle, always a pleasure having this producer. On opening, this was a little astringent but with time it developed a luscious creaminess and a round texture that was more consistent with my previous experiences.

I absolutely adore this producer having tried both their entry level and tête de cuvée, so couldn’t pass up their mid-level vintage at a good price. It has that lemon, citrus note without heaviness that typifies BdBs that i like. Excellent balance between the yeasty notes from autolysis, acidity and sweetness. The Fleur de Passion amplifies the richness and cut but less than half the price this is a wonderful drink.

From 75cl. Astonishing: the best white wine I have tasted in recent memory, bar none. Vanilla-creme brulée-led scent; gorgeous full-bodied palate with delectable, natural sweetness, a hint of ginger and green apple-acidic balance; tiny, digestible, non burp-inducing bubbles. Essence of high-quality, mineral, chalky Chardonnay. Very long, mouth-pickling finish. At peak now. 94P
