Nice wine with good fruit and structure. Recently had the 2020 of the same wine and this is a step up.

Really liked the slacker computer nerd and got this at auction. Family member opened it the day before so I only got to taste it on the second day. Too ripe. The wine is sweet, too much residual sugar, sweeter than amarone. Boozy, very boozy. Rustic grenache Tannins. "balanced" is not a word I would use to describe this wine. Wish it had more acid. Hopefully it showed better the first day. Maybe I just got a bad bottle? maybe …

Marvelous energy and presence here, aromas and flavors of dark fruit, spice cake, conifer, pastille, lavender, and fresh herbs. Big yet weightless, with tremendous intensity and concentration throughout, but comes across ridiculously balanced and effortless for such a big wine (15.8% ABV). Impeccably structured and composed, with layers of depth, breadth, and complexity, and plump fruit flavors that glide beautifully across the savory palate. Sweet, ripe tannin and a dusting of elegant spice ride the long, resonant, and shapely finish. …

Excellent. Ripe cherries and raspberries initially, opening up to earthy undertones after decant. Structured with great length. Recommend long decant if drinking young.

Classic Linne Calodo GSM. Big but balanced. Not quite the depth of top vintages, but tasty and enough going on to keep it interesting.

We liked this one a lot... big and meaty, loaded with flavor. The Grenache comes blasting through, loved it,

This is a more restrained version of this wine plenty of acid and tannin. Nonetheless drinks with oppulent amounts of extrracted berry liqueur. Dried herbed and smoke but mostly liqueur. Nate ageworthy wine so driink or hold.

Taking a contrarian position on this one... sweet cola syrup that rolls way too hot - 15.8% ABV?!? For $100+ per? Good thing this was a gift, or I'd return it and ask for my money back. Paso Robles goop.

Clearly Grenache based. Very easy to drink. Red berries are sticking out, more strawberries than anything. There is some tea in the background. The finish is long and juicy. Very nice wine that paired well with a savory sausage/mushroom quiche.

This is a massive wine, but balanced and structured. Loads of dark fruit and some mincemeat on the nose. On the palate, it’s like you took a giant bite of a blackberry, blueberry, and raspberry pie in that it is a massive bite of fruity gluttony and should feel wrong: a fruit turducken. The tannins are very round and doing their job. There’s still enough structure to hold this together for some time. There are some tertiary flavors like mushroom …

PnP with a small snack of Olympia Provisions Finocchiona salumni, Murray’s New Woman cheese, and Seggiano roasted artichoke hearts (my fav!). A clear and semi-translucent ruby gemstone in the glass, the nose is shy. First sip was lovely! Gentle tannins and a hint of acidity on the tip of my tongue, opening up mid palate and becoming more complex with just the tiniest, almost effervescent, hint of alcohol. Such a pretty, surprisingly delicate wine. Stems up!

92, pop. Big but balanced, benefitting greatly from 1+++ hour decant, though probably ideal after 2023. Emblematic of GSM stock from Paso, canted towards 70%+ Grenache. Ideal for grilled meats. Delicious but can be overpowering with acidity, though fruit and spice keep everything in check.

Dark red cherry, plum, and strawberry, with baking spice, sandlewood tannins, and a medium cherry finish. Fruity and nicely-balanced GSM that’s easy-drinking and admirably conceals the heat of its 15.8% ABV. 71% Grenache 22% Syrah 7% Mourvedre

This one tasted great straight from the bottle after pulling cork. It tasted so good that I thought to myself "This is why I buy this wine". Unfortunately after about an hour the alcohol took over and the flavors became muted and I was disappointed I didn't drink the wine quickly enough. 15.8% ABV so maybe not surprising.

After striking out on some Linne Calodo with a few years on them, this wine is still humming along. Not shy by any means - dark earth, cranberry and limestone on the nose. Quite big and lush on attack with lots of blackberry, blueberry and a big herbal note. Ripe but still firm tannins on the finish. Quite nice.

Popped and drank. Used to be one of my favorite of the LC line up. Had with steak et al at Houstons. Had an epic bordeaux tasting last night so perhaps remnants of that interfered but I found this wine rather light and fruity - no surprise really given the Grenache dominance. Surprisingly though the finish featured firm tannins by the end of the bottle. Could use some more cellar time without much of a loss frankly. Fruit dominates, spice …

I have previously been a critic of some of Linne Calodo's bottlings, as an inordinately high percentage have shown signs of secondary fermentation in the bottle and volatile acidity. However, when Matt Trevison is on his game, the result can be ethereal. This wine shows an opaque purple robe and an explosive nose of blackberries, black cherries, roasted herbs, mocha and earth. Full-bodied on the palate, with low acidity and big ripe tannins. The palate mirrors the nose and stays …
