I have had properly stored versions of this wine. The 6 bottles I bought from Langton's auctions look to be in perfect condition. Let me tell you, the bottle I just opened was completely cooked. Level was fine, cork was completely intact. My guess is improper storage because the wine was like an old shoe with shredded cardboard on top, 0% fruit. If the other 5 are cooked I may consider only screw tops from Langtons from now on.

Cork all busted up. Signs of age in the glass and on the nose. Classic hunter valley shiraz aromatics. The palate was lively with plenty of acidity after 14 years in bottle. Incredible dark plums, leather, beef blood, chocolate, and cedar box. The star of the show is the lingering finish with secondary characteristics. Outstanding, 93 pts.
