Clean medium ruby; clean medium nose of dried plums, slight yeast, savoury herbs, barnyard and tobacco leaf; dry; high acidity; medium tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is slightly tarter with addition of tar and cocoa; long finish; drink now - not sure it could get much better; this is an amazing example of Ontario Cabernet Franc - wow!

Beautiful structure and acidity. A lovely floral nose with fresh plum and undergrowth. Very nice balance. Waiting for that little more complexity. Wait a year?

This was my last bottle, and the best of the bunch. Decanted for an hour and it was delicious. All the green notes from previous bottles are gone now, tannins are nicely integrated and plum, lilac and tobacco are what shone through here.

Vinturi aerated followed by a 45 min decant. A surprising old tennis shoes aroma initially which thankfully dissipated after the decant leaving hints of strawberry, smokey plums, cucumber and some heat. Med-red. Lt-medium bodied, tannins silky, notes of raspberry, strawberry and pine nuts. Medium long finish with strawberry and some white truffle. Complex and delicious now so drink up.

Very much in a Loire style, but with some of the bright cherry notes that you'll find in Ontario. Beautiful wine and another winner from PM. Don't know that it will develop much further, but still drinking well and has some cellar time still remaining.

Lovely nose with slight brett hints, medium body with still-pronounced tannins. With a wine this age you'd expect some structure to develop with the high tannins but this wine won't progress any further in that regard. It's drinking beautifully right now with cherry and berries coming through.

In a great place right now. Nicely resolved tannins adding a little weight without being obtrusive. Good clarity of aromas and flavours. Many of the notes mentioned in Wine Canuck's note are still present, including the licorice and brown sugar, and the palate is dominated by bright red and black fruit with a hint of sweetness. The CF green tobacco is still there, but well balanced with the fruit. Nothing is out of place and it's very pleasurable, if not …

Fragrant nose of berry and tomato leaf. Tannins are a bit grainy, lighter body, medium length. Promises more than it delivers but very good.

Every time you go to some big tasting there are a few wines around the room that get that "Did you taste that..." buzz. This was one. En pointe varietal character with dusty tannins, fervent green notes and light cedar on suitably ripe black cherry fruit. Delightful.

Purple colour and somewhat translucent. Nice aromas of dark berry and red fruits, deeply scented florals. A hint of medicinal character. Nicely complex and dark. You can sense the brett on the aromatic palate , giving the wine a bit more punch in my opinion. Really nice ripe dark berry flavors. Drying but not dominant grainy to dusty tannins. Medium bodied, and a very decent length of finish. Nice balance and grip (firmness and backbone). A brett element but certainly …

WineFest in Toronto (Mike Grammer); 7/10/2016-7/12/2016 (Mike Grammer's (parents home) in Toronto) : Another new Canadian winery for me. The nose is nice. Very earthy with green tobacco and cherries. It comes in a Burgundy shaped bottle and there were many elements of Pinot in the wine. I wondered if it had some mixed in. Otoh, the green tobacco on the nose and firm tannins on the palate spoke loudly of Cab franc. It has a nice complexity. Cherries and …

Fantastic, fragrant cassis, berry, cedar nose. Tannins are drying, but plush fruit on the palate, short-medium length. Not sure this has a lot of upside; young vines.

Pulled this bottle thinking I was grabbing on the PM Pinot Noirs. No mistaking this for a PN once you open it. Has the telltale hint of green pepper on the nose. I don't like too much green pepper but this was subtle enough for me. Nose also had crushed flower and cool herbs. Palate is plum, blackberries, black cherry and brambly. Well balanced acid and tannins. No greenness on the palate. Loads of fruit in a medium frame. Very …

A Visit to Pearl Morissette (Niagara, Ontario, Canada) : I'm not totally crazy about the nose on this: a bit medicinal. Also on the nose: licorice, brown sugar, caramel, blackberry, black raspberry, spiced candied black cherries. Palate has hard, young tannins. The finish is medium built on green herbs, candied black cherry and licorice.
