Medium to dark red. This is finally getting there, this case having been amongst the most reticent red burgundy I have ever had. It has been 18 months since my last attempt and the wine is noticeably more open. As before the nose is immediately very pleasant, red cherry and raspberry, some cranberry, but unlike previous bottles this persists all evening on the palate, with crunchy sweet red fruit, sous bois and leaves. Medium ruby red, some readily apparent translucency. This started off rather nicely, with a fragant nose of red cherry and cranberry. It was all quite winsome, but as time went by it became altogether more foresquare and angular, and by the evening it was much harder work and nowhere near as inviting. Not inviting at all in fact. Medium red with bright cherries on the nose. Fresh roses. Juicy fruit on the palate, great acidity. Medium finish, lovely Pinot.

Still rather hard work at this stage, a tannic core that refuses to yield - six months from my last bottle and I think this is better, but this may be because after the first glass on day 1 I immediately recorked it and put it to one side! Dark red, almost impenetrable. This wine appears to be in a closed phase and was hard work. Stern and unforgiving, tightly wound. Little pleasure. Wait.

Way better than usual and shows the blending in of the frosted parcels. Concentrated, but maintaining good red fruit and acids. Plenty of tannin, but it’s fine and ripe. Certainly on the bigger side of burgundy, but not crossing the line into overripeness or spoof. Very impressive, especially for the price.

Decanted. Notes from 15 min open. Loads of black and red fruit, and some youthfully toasty oak and spice, followed by some green notes (stems?). On the palate, good acidity, with cranberry and sour cherry. A bit short, but very juicy and some grainy tannin on the finish gives this grip. The 10s are open for business now, so this will probably be a lot better in about 5 years.
