Seems to be oxidized with a bizarre mix of bret and almost "cooked" notes. Seems to suggest a storage problem - but seems unlikely given how well other bottles in same bin are doing.

Quite nice for a Crozes, this is dense and rhoney. Lots of non fruit things going on here, quite a mouthful but nothing I would consider not correct. Earth, pepper, I can dig figs as someone else said, a little camphor but not bad, overall a very nice bottle of northern rhone syrah that is of place yet not cornas or cote rotie. Nothing wrong with this!!

Just a great wine. Showed just as strongly as over a year ago. Dark and inky with a deep dark cherry, plum fruit and some meaty notes. Plate is smooth, ripe and well balanced, still good acidity, mild tannins, deep and flavourful with dark blackberry and currant on the finish. Some hints of smoke and meat. Excellent!

Very dark inky syrah. Medium nose, slightly muted, dark fruits. Palate is medium to full bodied, still quite tannic and dry with zesty currant and black plum acidity. A little soft and gentle at the onset, with dark cherry and berry fruit, then the hard, yet sweet tannins. kick in. Overall nicely balanced and a nice match for food (grilled Tuscan style chicken with vegetables). Not a wow wine, despite the concentration but very tasty. Update for the second half …

I decanted this for 2 hours and consumed over 4 more. It got a little better as the night went on but it never came togeter. I am not sure if I drank this in a bad phase, but I never got excited about this wine. It's not bad, but it never captured my attention.

Now here is what a Syrah should be. Fresh crushed flowers, charred bacon fat, touch of graphite, balsamic finish over a sweet, raw fig and biting bitter fruit pit young Crozes finish. This is disarmingly good. Wish I had more. Lots of savory and green tomato aromas come later on the accumulative finish. Very good.

Barely earns the 'I like it' label -- perhaps just a bit young. Nice, pure, focused fruit, but not a lot going on yet. Very dark. A bit closed on the nose.

Enjoyed on the first night after a two hour decant. Nice rich blue fruit (not overdone) and spice on the palate. Put back in bottle and vacu-vined for the next night. Not sure what happened, but the wine fell apart on night two. I am not sure why my experience was different from other reviews that said the wine was much better on night two. I might have just been unlucky.

Dark fruit and minerals. No oak or alcohol to speak of. Tannins and acidity in perfect balance. Major accomplishment at this price point. Really impressed.

Ruby - purple. Nose is black pepper, some meat. Nice initial syrah attack but a bit thin. Dusty, dried cherries, tart acidity. Longish tart finish. Day 3 update: markedly smoother and sweeter, tartness diminished and balance much better. Hold for a while.

Popped and let breathe in the cellar, then let it warm up. Bright ruby red in the glass with nice red legs. The nose has a hint of spice, with just a hint of pine resin. Little to no heat as to be expected with the 12.5% ABV. On the palate the wine has a wonderfully round and smooth feeling, with the spice reappearing on a nice long finish. More later…

Popped and poured. A solid wine with a bright red color and flavors of red fruits, dried herbs and black pepper. Needs a few hours to come alive, but we all enjoyed this wine. Served width food.

Let stand up and breathe in the cellar for several hours, then poured. Bright ruby red in the glass with a nice bright meniscus and lots of nice red legs. Nose has a somewhat reticent floral spiciness, with fruit and floral notes emerging on the palate. There is a strong sense of silky-smooth dark red rose-hips on the back of the palate. The finish has quite a bit of grip to it; as expected this wine still has some development …
