Big but not heavy. Half Grenache , half petite sirah. I thought the petite sirah dominated, with loads of brambly blackberry, tobacco, very dark espresso. However, this was also surprisingly agile. This managed to avoid the aspects I dislike in both varieties (the excessive candied cherry of some Grenache and the berries-from- Hell in PS) and accentuated the aspects of both that I do like to deliver a surprisingly supple but very full bodied wine. Went stonkers with Brillant- Savarin …

Fully drinkable now. Very dark, with powerful dark fruit flavors -- blueberry and black currant. Not much subtlety, but not at all cloying. Satisfying for the price.

Extended/post BD14 purchase. PnP and consumed at 61 degrees out of a Grassl Liberte stem. 50% Petit Sirah and 50% Grenache. Color is very dark purple/black. Aromas are slightly muted but display dark fruits, licorice, pepper leather and tobacco. The palate is of mixed berry pie of red and black cherries, blueberry, and blackberry. In addition, there undertones of brown spices, cocoa and black licorice. The wine is juicy with lively medium(+) acidity and medium tannins. The body is medium-full …

Interesting blend of PS and Grenache. The PS really gives it some oomph in the mid palate without bringing down the perceived acidity. High intensity on the palate with black fruits, orange bitters, and something mineral/rocky. Will buy more in the future.

Grenache-forward, big fruit, very tasty. Medium-low intensity nose of berry cobbler. Red and blue fruit in a high intensity palate. Medium tannin and body, nice long finish, high quality.

Went great with the truffle burger and, surprisingly, the kale salad with lemon vinaigrette. Mixed berry compote, marasca cherry, leather, licorice, green peppercorn, and crushed black rock. Full- bodied with medium plus acidity. Earthy, iodine finish. Should drink great until its 10th birthday or more.

Drinkable now, but I want to see some more development before I rate. Maybe 2 years in bottle.

Never had a Petite Sirah/Grenache blend. Very Southern Rhône ish. Vibrant, but balanced. Black fruits, orange oil, pepper. Would buy again. Screaming deal at $25. A welcome addition to Berserker Day. Popped and poured. Even better on day 2.
