Medium plus ruby with medium intensity violet and lavender notes Dry, high acidity, tannin, alcohol and full body. A bit round with medium plus intensity plum predominant leading to a longish finish. Overall, very good.

100% Petit Verdot is something of a rarity in Canada. At 5 years of age this wine is in a great spot. Deep garnet slightly fading at the rim. Opulent nose featuring ripe blackberry and plum, smoked meat, cola, dill and vanilla. Truly exceptional balance with round tannins showing just a hint of astringency, savoury acidity and plush texture. Flavours of dark chocolate, black cherry, cherry blaster candy and worn leather. Long finish. At peak, drink to 2023.

Deep purple colour, earthy nose. Bold licorice/tobacco/blackberry/jam flavours, esp. after opening up. Needs food.

You don’t get a lot of Petit Verdot from the Okanagan, but this is my favourite of a very small sample size. It somehow avoids the donut effect of most single varietal Petit Verdots. There is plenty of mid-section. The nose was infinitely smellable... Very fine tannins, don’t age this anymore. Slightly over-powering wood on the palette. Nice finish, I don’t like what more air time did for this, lost too much fruit. Best when popped and poured.
