Viader, Dare Cabernet Franc, Napa Valley

In my opinion, cabernet franc shows best in the Loire, where--due to terroir and/or winemaking philosophy--it is juicy and racy with pungent green aromas and tart red fruit. But this riper-tasting wine has some merit too. The nose is subtle, but pretty, with aromas of mild bell pepper and white pepper, sweet black olives, blackcurrants, and oak. Drinking well. Smooth tannin lots of dark fruit.balanced acid.

Deep ruby. Nose of red and dark cherries, spice, sage with chocolate and vanilla. Same on the palate, with hints of green pepper, black pepper and dusty tannins. Medium+ to full body. Medium+ to long finish. Could use a little time in the decanter.

1 hr decant. Cherry and blackberry favors but kind of monolithic. I don't get the bell pepper favors others have mentioned.

Superb with lamb chops. Enjoyed with Ken and Robin.

Viader recommends drink over next 5 to 7 years from 2015

Really fresh wine with strong notes of green bell pepper on the nose. Paired really well with double cream and blueberry jam.

Was wife's favorite at the tasting at Viader. I'm kind of lukewarm on it. A good weeknight drink.

Tasted in the tasting room yesterday and it seems to be entering a little bit of an awkward phase. Notes are consistent with previous reviewers, but everything seemed a bit muted. I'm going to let these sit another year before continuing.

Excellent. Sharp, fruity smokey on the nose. Cherry chocolates on the palate. Smooth dry but enjoyable finish.
